So it's pregnancy and infant loss remembrance month and I'm posting pictures of marigold seeds. What do the two have to do with each other?

Today the Alamosa community greenhouse let me come out and collect marigold seeds from their garden. We have been handing out seed packets for the annual 4th of July parade for years. These particular marigold seeds are special because they come from Mary marigolds. Merry marigolds are flowers that are grown from packets of seeds that we gave out at my daughter Mary's funeral years ago. The community greenhouse has been growing them ever since.
When you see the Alamosa farmers market in the 4th of July parade next year and you get a pack of marigold seeds now that those particular seeds are very special. And there's a lot of meaning and love tied up in them.

2025 season...that's a wrap.

We had a great 45th season but it was also one of the most difficult ones for me as the director. The weather was very unpredictable and difficult to manage for good chunk of the year. I learned a lot about vendor and customer persistence this year.

Thank you truly to all of the customers, vendors, staff, musicians, community groups, and all that came out for the market this year. It's an honor to have served you for another season and can't wait to see everybody back in July of 2026!

We even have a young vendors Booth selling cacti and herbs!

Don't miss our last farmers market for the 2025 season. I am aware that the weather is dicey but we will still have the market. We will open at 8:00 a.m. and stay open as long as we can manage.

This is our last chance to have knives get sharpened by our on-site knife sharpener so don't miss out this opportunity. Kyle does a really great job and it's worth your time.

I'll post more tomorrow about what else will be at the market but it should be a little bit more robust than it was last week. So don't miss out our last Alamosa farmers market for the 2025 season. Make sure you spend your snap, double up, and Market bucks so that you don't lose them between this year and next year

Will see you Saturday starting at 8:00 a.m. until the weather makes a stop.

Vendors accept cash, credit, debit, snap, and double up.

Don't miss today's market. It's a gorgeous day, the vendors brought incredible things like these New Mexico apples which you can only get today.
The bakers have made delicious offerings. There's still a shocking amount of produce available. Marc Eaton is playing our music today and Miss Jenna is doing our kids crafts.

And speaking of kids crafts one of our vendors donated these giant sunflowers and star-shaped boards to the market. You can purchase one with a donation and all the funds go to our kids activity booth.

We only have two markets left after today so come and stock up. I myself was able to get some amazing ground bison because our local bison vendors having a sale this week.

Stock up while you still can!

Oh, the joys of technology. I was almost done with this post, saved it, and then it disappeared. So I'm hoping this will help me be more concise for all your sakes!

3 markets left for our 45th season!

Sadly, its our last week of New Mexico apples. They have had a rough season so there are much fewer apples than a normal season. That being said, they are delicious this year!

We have Pueblo chiles roasting IN THE SLV , beautiful local and regional produce, hand made goods and not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 bakers this week!

Big River Bison will be back again with amazing local bison. If you haven't tried it, they are running a promotion this week so check them out.

Free Live Music and Kids' activities as usual.

Folks, we have a great group of vendors so come on down. Market opens at 8 and as long as the weather cooperates, we close at 1:30.

Corner of 6th and Ross, enter off of Edison. Please don't park in the gravel lot adjacent to the market. You can park in the connected parking lot, the lots by 1st Southwest Bank, the old DMV parking, and the Alamosa Schools parking.

The Market accepts Cash, SNAP, Double Up Food bucks, Credit and Debit cards.

It is absolutely beautiful at the market this morning! Come on over and shop with our vendors while you still have the chance.

We are getting information from our New Mexico Apple Farmers that apples are in short supply this year. So we'll only have New Mexico apples at the market for another week or two. So stock up while you still can get them.

We are having some issues with our EBT machine. We are trying to remedy them but at this point we are running vouchers manually so when you want to use your snap machine today it's going to take a little bit longer. Please be patient with staff.

Our Story

In our current world with Covid-19, the market is still open but with modifications. We still have vendors selling locally grown produce, meats, eggs, honey, and other animal products, food stuffs and hygiene items. However, we are not offering kids’ activities or live music.

Saturdays in July through October you can find fresh local produce, farm products like meat and honey, home baked goods, and hand crafted items at the corner of State & 6th in beautiful Downtown Alamosa. The Alamosa Farmers’ Market is a community event that has something for everyone. In addition to our dozens of vendor booths the market also offers live music, kids activities, educational demonstrations, and cooking demonstrations. Most of these events are free, each and every week. The Market vendors accept cash and vouchers that can be obtained at the Farmers’ Market booth. Vouchers used at the Market are for debit and cards, SNAP (Quest cards), and Double Up Snap programs. See the market booth for more information
