To celebrate National Honey Month we'll be highlighting some of the different ways we use honey around the bakery throughout September. We figured this was a pretty good place to start.

Baklava, one of the best uses of honey.

Layers of flaky phyllo, walnuts and cinnamon, then drenched in honey. Baklava has been a favorite dessert around the world for centuries for one reason — it's delicious.

September is National Honey Month! 🍯

We are honored that the National Honey Board picked us to help celebrate. They sent us several different varieties of honey to taste and learn about.

We have Orange Blossom and Buckwheat out for sampling now — and if you've never compared different varieties of honey side by side, you might be surprised by just how different they can taste.

Years ago, our son Nolan had a bad raisin experience. He grabbed what he thought was a chocolate chip cookie. It turned out to be oatmeal raisin. The incident created an unhealthy hatred of raisins that has lasted ever since.

So he set out to make a “Better Butter Tart” by replacing the raisins with chocolate chips. We’ve named his creation the "Toll House Tart". It is very good. Think chocolate chip pecan pie — without the pecans.

Raisin lovers, don’t worry. We’re still making the Canadian classic with raisins.

A grandpa brought his grandkids in to surprise them with some of our giant doughnuts. We heard a lot of "This is the best day ever!!!"
