I hope everyone is making it through this weather & staying warm.

This weather has pushed back finishing the last few loads of specialty but they will be done next week. We will contact the final few that is in those loads.
Everyone else that has been contacted that your deer are done, please contact us to schedule pickup time.
We will be shutting the freezers off after next week.
As every year, there are a couple of phone numbers that are wrong or we can’t read. If u have a deer & haven’t been contacted please get ahold of us.
Any deer that’s not picked up after next week will be disposed of.

We are open & accepting all cuts for Muzzleloader season. Drop off can be self serve after hours.

Also, if you have been contacted about your deer being done, please pick up ASAP.

With the numbers being down, we may not run until the end of Archery. So that means freezers may be shut off sooner this year. If you haven’t received a text or call, please reach out because some of the numbers we have are wrong numbers.

***Well just an update for everyone!!

We are taking all deer, no matter how it’s cut. No restrictions or minimum on cuts.

Although the season has definitely been slower than normal, I do want to share that the bucks are definitely starting to roll in. This one was chasing a doe when the hunter got him.

I don’t think full blown rut is in but it’s definitely starting. If you’re hunting this year, I would definitely get out this weekend.

Well the first week of the Archery Season is in the books & I must say it looked a little different this year.

I know that this year is going to be rough on everyone- especially those that make a living from southeast Ohio Whitetail. Although we took in more than I expected- I’m smart enough to know that it’s opening week & Hunters are excited to get in the woods of areas not as affected by EHD. As many of you that know me also know that I always try to stay positive, it’s really all we can do when these things happen that we cannot Contol.

One thing that I enjoy most about this job- is the stories & memories that I constantly get to hear and in some small way, get to be apart of.

When I got the call from Robert to let me know he was bringing a deer in- it 100% made my day. He informed me that his son “G” went with him for the very first time & was involved from beginning to end. Now Robert, being an avid outdoorsman- has been hunting for years. But this time it hit different, the fact that his son was with him made this hunt his all time favorite. Sometimes, it’s not what they say- it’s how they say it. The love & pride
that came through his voice truly showed me just how much this meant to him. Like I’ve said a hundred times before, this right here is what it’s all about.

With all the negative effects that EHD is having on our area- I choose to look a little harder this year for the positives and to me this definitely qualifies. Hunting has always been about more than “if” you harvest a deer. It’s about being out & enjoying nature, taking time about of your busy schedules to just “unwind”, and especially about make memories & sharing your love of hunting with our younger generation.

Please don’t let EHD take these positive things from you. Still try to get outdoors & enjoy the season even if you don’t “HUNT” anything.

A huge shoutout goes out to Robert & “G”.

And so it begins!!!

Another deer season is upon us, I wonder who will be number one for the year????

I know EHD has a lot of you frustrated & possibly not being able to harvest a deer this year. Even if that’s the case, stop in to visit & say hi- I hear a HUG from your favorite deer processor can make you day a little bit brighter. I know it makes my day brighter just being able to see you all.

Hello everyone— it’s me again, long time no talk lol. I hope everyone has had a great year so far.

I thought I’d take a few minutes & touch base about this years upcoming deer season. We’re getting a ton of questions about how this deer season is going to look at Wood Rd.

The great news is that we are definitely processing deer this year & will continue making all of your favorite smoked Specialty that you guys love so much.

There are still some details that need worked out with everything that has happened & as soon as I have them I will post on here, so please bear with us as we work out all the logistics.

Well it’s that time again- after an extremely busy deer season (thanks to all of you), Everything is done & We are ready to shut down the freezers. I have messaged and/or called Everyone that has deer still here. If you or someone you know hasn’t been contacted, please get ahold of us (we may have the wrong contact number).

I will post names of those that haven’t picked up early next week so if you recognize any of the names please contact them for me. I know some doesn’t do Facebook, so may not see the post.

Just wanted to give an update regarding the upcoming Muzzleloader Season.

We will be open and accepting All Deer!!
This means that it can be standard cut with no minimum Smokehouse Specialty required.

Of course we will still be offering all of your favorite Specialty menu items for those of you who want them.

Thank you all for your patience & enjoy the snow this weekend- I know most hunters love hunting in the snow (not me though) lol.

Hi- I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season!

I have a couple of announcements:

All deer from gun week are cut so all regular cuts can be picked up. There are a few people that I can’t get ahold of- possibly have wrong numbers.

Also, we’ve decided that because the 2-Day Gun Season is so close to Christmas that from now until January 1st, the only deer we will accept to cut has to be almost completely SmokeHouse Specialty. We will still cut the Backstraps/Loin how ever you prefer. We want to spend our holidays with our families.

We will still accept cleaned- deboned meat to turn into your favorite specialty products.

We know this isn’t what most of you want to hear & it wasn’t the easiest decision for us to make. Please call if you have any questions.

For those who feel the need to be especially judgmental & hurtful- I’ll make this one comment:

“Life is too short for so much hate” - if this is the worse news that you have heard today, then count yourself lucky. I find myself praying for patience & understanding for myself but I will include all the haters in my prayers to be granted the same.
