A good deer plot starts before the seed ever hits the ground. 🌱🦌

Most cool-season food plots in Alabama are planted during September and October, but timing isn’t the only thing that matters. Before planting, make sure you:

🌱 Prepare the soil and remove existing vegetation
🌱 Choose a seed that fits your soil and growing conditions
🌱 Plant when there is moisture in the ground and rain in the forecast
🌱 Follow the recommended seeding rate and planting depth

We have several deer plot and cover crop seed options available now at Albertville Farmers Co-op. Not sure which one is right for your property? Come see us and we’ll help you get ready for planting season!
