Happy New Year ABQ! We are so excited to announce the next chapter of the Mouse Hole Cheese Shop in 2026. Our current shop curator, David Myers, will be taking on the ownership of the Mouse Hole in 2026! David came to us just over a year and a half ago with nearly 10 years of hands-on experience in the cheese world. He is a Certified Cheese Professional (CCP) who has dedicated much of his waking and working time to learning and living cheese! Chances are if you’ve entered into the Mouse Hole, David has welcomed you with open arms, knowledge, and a bite of something delicious. His understanding of the world of cheese has pushed this shop, and the growth of our staff’s knowledge and ability has been exponential.
Operations of the shop will remain the same. Hours will remain the same. Same faces and friends to greet you and help with any cheese needs, and some new ones to share knowledge with you and ask questions! La Finca and Mouse Hole will still both operate as normal, sharing the block with each other and supporting each others’ mutual endeavors. We hope to have future collaborations with dinners, block parties, etc in the upcoming year, and will remain part of the shop’s direction half way into 2026 before David fully takes on all operations. We have strong confidence that his experience and passion will be what the shop needs to be a staple for high quality products in this community.�
David Myers has this to say: “It has been a joy serving the ABQ community with the help of the best team around, without whom we could not have gotten to where we are now. Nathan and Mekala have been the kindest and most supportive bosses one could ask for, seeing things in me before I saw them in myself. I care deeply about cheese and share their ethos of focusing our efforts on the smallest-batch, most delicious stuff we can get our hands on, while still doing our best to offer options for every income bracket. We want to continue to build our relationships with local businesses, charities, farmers, and artisans. And, of course, we want to be an inclusive space for anyone and everyone to engage in the magic of great cheese, food, and drink. Here’s to keeping a good thing going and growing!”
Please come down and grab some cheese, ask any questions, and see Mekala and Nathan in-shop over the next few weeks for some hugs and laughs. Thank you everyone for your continued support, and we are so excited to see this cheese shop grow beyond our wildest dreams into the dairy destination it has become today!
