I have absolutely no business running a 5K 😂

Yet somehow, on June 6th, that’s exactly what’s happening.

If you’ve known me for any amount of time, you know running is not “my thing.” I’m pretty sure my knees are still trying to file complaints about this decision.

But I’m doing the Red Door Run for Isaiah 117 House Blount County TN, and honestly, there’s not a better reason to get out there and suffer through 3.1 miles.

So I figured I’d throw this out there and see if any of y’all want to come make questionable life choices with me. Let’s get a squad together for this!

Run it. Walk it. Jog for 45 seconds and immediately regret it. Doesn’t matter 😂

It’s for an incredible cause and every bit of it helps kids going through unbelievably tough situations.

If you sign up, let me know. Misery loves company.

The Isaiah 117 Red Door Run - Blount County is on Saturday June 6, 2026. It includes the following events: 5K Open, 1.17 Mile Fun Run/Walk, Sleeping But Supporting, and 5K Virtual Run Anywhere Run/Walk.

May has been kinda wild around here.

A month ago we threw a birthday party and somehow this community helped us raise nearly $14,000 for Isaiah 117 House Blount County TN.

A couple weeks later y’all showed up again and helped us raise nearly $2,000 for United Way of Blount County.

And this week we got to donate toward Shop With A Cop of Blount County too.

And honestly… I think the biggest thing I’ve learned through all of this is just how much this community actually cares.

We’re literally just a sandwich shop. That’s it 😂

But somehow y’all trust us enough to jump in beside us when we get behind something bigger than sandwiches. And every single time, this community shows up.

That’s the cool part about local businesses that people sometimes miss. When you support local, your money doesn’t disappear into some giant corporate black hole. It stays here. It helps kids here. It helps families here. It helps organizations here that are doing real work in our own backyard.

And seeing that happen month after month has honestly been inspiring.

I’m blown away by the support y’all continue to show us. Truly.

And because of that, we’ll continue to show up for this community every chance we get 🤘🏼

MEMORIAL DAY UPDATE 🇺🇸

-(Brought to you by Subs & Such and AI slop)

We’ll be CLOSED on Monday 5/25 for Memorial Day.

Truthfully, our crew has earned a day to breathe a little. Some of them will be at the lake. Some at the river. Some grilling out. Some doing absolutely nothing. And honestly? Good. They deserve it.

Now… before anybody gets funny ideas… yes, a few of us will still probably be inside the shop cleaning, organizing, moving stuff around, and pretending we’re “just gonna stop by for a minute.” That’s restaurant life 😂

But NO… sandwiches are not happening lol.

More importantly, we want to take a second to remember what the day is actually about and honor the people who gave everything for this country and the freedoms we get to enjoy every day. We’re incredibly grateful for that sacrifice.

We’ll see y’all back Tuesday ready to roll 🤘🏼

Got invited by Brian over at GoTeez Clothing Co. to the The Savannah Bananas game last night at Covenant Health Park and I’m still not sure what I just witnessed 😂

That was less of a baseball game and more of a full blown spectacle. Absolute chaos in the best possible way. Music, dancing, entertainment nonstop, people hanging off balconies, sold out crowd losing their minds… easily one of the coolest sporting events I’ve ever been to.

And the seats? Unreal.

But honestly the best part of the night was just the people. Brian invited me out and treated me like family the whole time. Couldn’t have been more grateful for the opportunity.

And if you know Brian, you know the dude NEVER sits still. Him and his team at GoTeez handle all our stuff for Subs & Such, and somehow on top of that he’s got lemonade and ice cream stands inside the stadium too 😂. Not to mention The Bigfoot Festival, JeepFest, etc. Dude is always busy. If there was someone that embodies the saying “Make hay while the sun shines”, it’s Brian and his family.

And the coolest thing about it all is seeing the whole family involved. His kids working the stands, his wife helping run everything, everybody grinding together. Real family business stuff. The kind of thing I’ll support every single time.

Good people.
Good family.
Good business.

I left there last night honestly just feeling grateful.

Lucky to know people like that.
Lucky to live in a place with people like that.
And lucky somebody thought enough of me to invite me along for the ride 🤘🏼

Regina Jennings from Pinnacle pulled up this morning looking like she was delivering the Lombardi Trophy 😂

Absolute UNIT of a cookie from Great American Cookies celebrating the Reader’s Choice wins.

And honestly… this is exactly why relationships matter in business.

Regina has been awesome to us. Always supportive, always encouraging, always willing to answer questions or talk through ideas when I’m trying to figure something out. She’s one of those people that seems to know everybody in Blount County and somehow still makes time to help people anyway.

Unofficial mayor of Blount County might honestly be underselling it at this point 😂

And the coolest part? She genuinely roots for local businesses. Not just us. ALL local businesses. You can tell she actually cares about seeing people succeed around here.

Also… side note:
If someone shows up with a cookie this big, you legally have to trust them. I don’t make the rules.

Really grateful for good people in our corner.

And shoutout to Great American Cookie Company too because this thing is ridiculous 🤘🏼

If there was ever a moment that perfectly summed me up as a human being… today might’ve been it 😂

Went over to check out The Back Nine Golf - Alcoa, TN today because I’ve got a couple charity golf tournaments coming up for Shop With A Cop of Blount County and United Way of Blount County. And seeing that my golf game currently resembles a wounded goose fighting for its life, I figured I should probably hit a few balls before I embarrass myself publicly.

Reached out to Tony over there and he got me set up. And dude… this place is ABSURD.

Like… “how is this even in Alcoa?” absurd.

Top of the line simulators, crazy accurate shot tracking, super laid back atmosphere, comfy seating, complimentary coffee and water, music going, AC blasting. Just a ridiculously cool setup.

Spent a while dialing in distances, then played Pebble Beach for a bit and honestly didn’t wanna leave. It’s one of those places you walk into and immediately go:
“Yep. I’m gonna spend money here.” 😂

So eventually I wrap up, walk outside feeling like a semi-professional golfer for the first time in my life, throw my clubs in the trunk, shut it…

…and then my soul left my body.

Because right as the trunk latches shut, it hits me:
“My keys are in the golf bag.”

Inside the trunk.

Inside the locked car.

Outstanding performance by me. Truly elite level stupidity.

So now I’m standing in the parking lot looking like a man who shouldn’t legally be allowed to operate motor vehicles.

Only one person I knew to call:
Greg at GW Towing.

And THIS is why local businesses matter. Greg himself answers the phone. No robot. No “press 4 for roadside assistance.” No outsourced nonsense. Just:
“Hey buddy, what’d ya do?” 😂

Had Shane headed my way immediately. Dude pulls up, hops out, works absolute wizard magic on my car door, and had me back in my vehicle in what felt like 14 seconds.

So within the span of like an hour:
• One local business helped me pretend I’m decent at golf.
• Another local business rescued me from my own brain malfunction.

And both were incredible.

That’s what makes this community special, man. It’s real people. Owners who care. Businesses that actually give a damn. Folks who take pride in what they built and how they treat people.

Need somewhere cool to hit golf balls, hang out, or get a membership? Go see Back Nine. Seriously.

Need a tow, unlock, roadside help, or someone to save you from your own bad decisions? Call GW Towing 😂

Blount County’s got some really good people in it.

Well… this is wild.

A little over a year ago we took over a sandwich shop that was struggling pretty badly.

Truthfully, there were a lot of moments early on where it felt overwhelming. A lot of long days. A lot of second guessing. A lot of trying to fix things while also figuring out who we wanted this place to become.

Today we got the call from The Daily Times about the Reader’s Choice Awards.

Subs & Such won:
🏆 Best Buffet
🏆 Best Catering
🏆 Best Deli
🏆 Best Salad Bar
🏆 Best Boss

And man… that means a lot.

Especially Catering and Salad Bar.

Those aren’t “hey I ate there once” categories. Those are consistency categories. Ex*****on categories. Those are categories you win because people trust you over and over again.

That trust means everything to us.

But more than the awards themselves, I think what hits me the hardest is realizing this community really embraced us.

Y’all gave us a chance.
Y’all stuck with us.
Y’all told your friends about us.
Y’all brought your families in.
Y’all let us cater your meetings, ballgames, weddings, offices, birthdays, and chaos 😂

And somewhere along the way this place became part of people’s routines and lives again.

That’s really special to me.

And honestly, our team deserves an unbelievable amount of credit for this.

This staff was always capable. They just needed somebody to believe in them, trust them, and let them loose so this place could become what the community remembered and loved again.

At the same time, they trusted me enough to let me try some new ideas and drag this brand into the 21st century a little bit 😂

That balance is what made this work.

And Best Boss is super cool too… mostly because my leadership style is honestly just trusting capable people and trying not to get in their way.

I can steer the ship, but I can’t row every oar and control every sail at the same time.

I trust our people. I give them autonomy. And when they do great things, they deserve credit for it.

Really grateful tonight.
Really humbled by this.
And really proud to be part of this community.

Thank y’all for believing in us.
