I'm thinking of doing some re-branding, and re-naming of our hobby business. When we began, we were mainly a craft based farm market booth, now, thanks to the Cottage Food Law, we are mostly a baked goods, and jams/jellies based booth at some of our markets. This summer we will also be offering a small selection of veggies, and cut flowers (if my kids to zap all my energy).

Tomorrow I will be at the Bellaire Farmers Market from 9am-1pm. All money from sales will be going toward mom's medical bills and various other expenses while she is in the hospital recovering from heart surgery.

Good afternoon FB fans. On November 3rd, my mom, Pat, was into emergancy surgery for a torn aorta. Pat is also our head baker for markets. These past few days have been very trying for our family. We came very close to losing my mom the other night, but little by little she is healing. She has a long road ahead of her, and won't be cleared to work for a long time. If you are able to help that would be wonderful, or if all you can do is share our GoFundMe page started by a family member, that would be wonderful too. Please keep her in your prayers during the days, weeks, and month ahead.

My Aunt Patti was rushed to the hospital on November 3rd and into emergency surgery for a torn aorta (a potentially deadly heart condition). Charlevoix market will be down at Bridge Park tomorrow. Mom is in the kitchen working on baked goods, Charlie and Henry are doing their best at quality control, and I'm about to begin making all new labels for our goodies with our updated information. If I'm lucky I can get in a batch or two of jam once Mom is done with baking.

We have had to take a few weeks off for markets as we make a move into our forever home. We will be back in full force next week, sort of, once we get settled I need to make a LOT of jams and jellies.

Market season is just around the corner! Next month are market meetings, and the mad scramble to get things ready for this year's season. It will certainly be interesting this year with 2 Quality Control Officers overseeing operations.

Our newest quality control officer, Henry, has been home for a week now after spending a week at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids. Now that we are all back at home, I can slowly begin the process of getting things prepped for next years market season, and make a list of all the jams that need to be restocked.

I can't help but giggle when people think us market vendors have the winters off, because for me, that is the time when I get a bulk of the craft items done, and put together a game plan for the upcoming season. Hopefully this next season we will have our tables fully stocked on the jams and jellies everyone has been waiting for.

If Charlie has his way about it, there will be some cookie testing taking place as well. Each cookie we make and sell, must past Charlie's taste test before it hits the tables.
