Big news! We are hitting the campaign trail. You’ve trusted us to feed your family for the past 16 years. Now we hope you will trust us to advocate for you in Charleston.
Kent for West Virginia Senate - District 10 will take care of Monroe, Summers, Greenbrier, Nicholas, and most of Fayette county.
Jennifer for West Virginia House of Delegates - District 40 will take care of most of Monroe and part of Summers County.
As we travel throughout the region over the coming months, we look forward to hearing your issues, earning your vote, and representing you in Charleston.
We’ve decided to close the fun park, except for private bookings, school field trips, and festivals planned for July 4, August 22, September 5, and Saturdays in October.
Update: here are the reasons we are running for office. This was copied from Jennifer’s campaign page.
I am frequently asked why I am running for office. Sometimes I wonder the same thing. My plan for this stage in life was playing with grandchildren, traveling, drinking lots of coffee, and porch sitting. As it turns out, my conscience is taking me in another direction of serving my community.
I’m running for office because West Virginia families are struggling while the issues affecting their daily lives go unaddressed.
I’m running for office because decisions about our communities should be made by the people who live here—not corporations, lobbyists, or political insiders. I am running for office because I want to restore local control for our communities.
I’m running for office because West Virginia needs responsible data center development that protects our health, hearing, homes, water, land, infrastructure, quality of life, and our precious agricultural industry. Every household deserves access to safe, reliable drinking water, and economic development should strengthen communities rather than burden them.
I’m running for office because utility regulation should reflect the reality that West Virginians are faced with financial hardship. While families struggle to pay their electric bills, utility companies report record profits. I will advocate for changing the Public Service Commission to elected positions so they are directly accountable to the people and more responsive to the concerns of West Virginia families.
I’m running for office to advocate for responsible job creation that makes sense for rural communities, provides a livable wage, environmentally friendly, ensures safety of workers, and strengthens local economies.
I’m running for office because every child deserves a quality education. That means fully funding public schools, making sure teachers are well paid, and ensuring accountability for all educational programs, including private and homeschool programs.
I’m running for office because all working families deserve access to childcare and providers deserve fair pay.
I’m running for office to expand services for seniors, working families, food security, addiction, foster children, kinship families, public transportation, and affordable housing to address the alarming increase in homelessness.
I’m running for office to advocate for high-speed internet access in every community. Broadband is essential infrastructure for education, healthcare, agriculture, small businesses, and economic opportunity.
I’m running for office because I don’t feel like my representatives are listening to constituents, responding to our needs, or making decisions that improve our quality of life.
I’m running for office because government should be of the people, by the people, and for the people - not big business!
I’m running for office because if not me, then who?????
