One year ago today, we faced one of the hardest moments in our journey—a devastating fire that brought our farm operations to a standstill overnight. The damage was immense, and the road back was long, gritty, and full of uncertainty.

But if life teaches you anything, it’s that you will be knocked down—but you can get back up. We rebuilt from the ashes, piece by piece, fueled by nothing more than determination, stubborn hope, and the incredible support of our community.

To all of our customers, fellow farmers, friends, and family who reached out, lent a hand, shared kind words, or just stuck with us through the rough patches:

We wouldn’t be here today without you.

Here’s to resilience, growth, and the belief that even in the darkest moments, there’s still a path forward. 🌱

🚨HELP WANTED – Will Trade Mushrooms for Sanity (Just kidding… but also, not really.)

Buckeye Shroomery is in desperate need of a dependable, mushroom-loving market wrangler! Are you someone who has your own ride, enjoys chatting with strangers, and can lift a folding table without pulling a muscle? Then we might just be soulmates.

🎪 The job?

Have your own transportation (sadly, the mushrooms have no driver’s licenses)

Set up our booth, sell shrooms with charm and confidence, then tear it down like a pro

Return leftover products to our farm in Alexandria without losing a single mushroom

Weekday markets run Tues–Fri, 3pm–7:30pm

Saturday market is from 7am–1pm

You won’t have to work every market—we’re just hoping you can pick a day and stick with it consistently!

🧠 No need to be a mushroom expert—we’ll train you. Just bring good energy, a strong back, and maybe a cooler playlist than ours.

💰 Yes, it’s paid.

🍄 Let’s Talk About What’s Not in Your Mushroom Box! 👩‍🌾

When you buy 8 ounces of mushrooms from Buckeye Shroomery, you're getting 8 full ounces of the good stuff — the tender, flavorful, and most desirable parts that are perfect for cooking!

We take extra care when we harvest and package your mushrooms by trimming away the tougher stalks and any remaining substrate (check out the photos 👇). While the stalks are technically edible, they can be a bit chewy after cooking, and we want every bite you take to be the best it can be.

So, while our mushrooms may appear a bit higher in price compared to some others, you're actually getting a better deal — because we’re not charging you for the parts that are usually tossed out. It’s all about quality, care, and respect for your plate (and your wallet)!
