Hello friends. Some of you know but many of you don't know that a year ago I took the position of farm manager at Cedar Lake Growers. Cedar Lake Growers is a nonprofit organization on the campus of Great Lakes Adventist Academy. We grow food, train students, and share information with those who would like to grow their own food. We leased a 15-bay greenhouse that had been sitting empty for a number of years deteriorating, and wanted to help restore it to its original dream and redeem the funds that were donated for this very purpose years ago.
Last year we raised funds to replace the roofs of the first Seven bays of the greenhouse and now we need to replace the remaining eight bays as we have severely exceeded the life expectancy of the remaining roof plastic as some of them are starting to come apart, exposing the crops the the cold fall temperatures. We do not have deep pockets so one of our board members initiated a Go Fund Me campaign to take care of our most urgent need. Plastic is really only one of our needs. Our other needs are row covers, irrigation, compost, and tools. In the event that we have reached our goal, the extra will go toward our other needs. If you are motivated to help, please contribute to the Go Fund Me project or contact me directly. We also take volunteer help as well as we are transitioning from summer growing to winter production. Just last week we had like minded friends come for a day and help and they donated all of the garlic we will be planting next week! Thank you friends!
The snow will be flying in Michigan soon and we're trying to save the greenhoโฆ Cari Haus needs your support for Support Food Security: Fund Greenhouse Repairs
