THRIVE LIFE is offering a bit of fun to their consultants for the 12 days of Christmas. So, I will probably be posting on here a bit in trying to win a prize or something!!
I was asked why I got into Thrive. Here is the story.
I've always been a mini prepper, extra food in the pantry, buckets of rice and beans, etc. My 97 year old mother lived through the depression and for 2 years lived on beans and cornbread and occasionally fried potatoes. I figured if she could do it, then I could too, so I had quite a stash of beans set aside. Now, I'm not an apocalypse prepper like my daughter is, who has her zombie team ready to go. I know I'll be on her team because I can cook, so I don't worry about planning for that. Our area did get hit very severely in 09 with an ice storm that shut power off for many people for up to 4 weeks. That was tough. And we do live on the New Madrid fault line, which when it goes, will go big time. So, I try to give ourselves the bare minimums of what we need to make it.
Two years ago, at a homeschool conference in Arlington, I came across a booth that had these cans of food lined up. She offered me a sample of the pineapple. Need I say more? I took some back to the family and we all loved it, I didn't do much about it except feeling that the pineapple sure could help rice and beans be a bit more 'tolerable.
Another year passed and I visited the same booth at the same conference and got a little more information. It took until summer of this year for me to be able to do anything about it. I still didn't know much about it nor how the home show side worked, but I decided to at least enroll and stock up on food....keeping in mind, I had only tasted the pineapple and by this time some strawberries and the corn. I really wasn't planning on being even mildly aggressive with the home shows, I was just getting food for us set aside. I was pretty apprehensive when that first box came. For the longest time, every time we opened a new can someone would exclaim, "why that tastes just like broccoli, or peppers or celery..."
I was impressed enough with the foods to begin doing something I have moderately disliked....home shows. Interestingly enough, I don't have a problem presenting the home shows and I really enjoy talking one on one with individuals as to how to personalize their Thrive needs. It is so fun to watch people taste the foods and learn about their benefits. I like the phone calls and emails from customers that learned how to Thrive-ize a recipe or have started incorporating Thrive into their pantry. I chuckle at those that were skeptical and that have to share their testimony with me.
I also love how I truly can work at my own pace and schedule without a lot of pressure. I love working with Thrive and their customer service as they really believe in taking care of the customer.
By the way...my 97 year old mother? I just sent her a box of the Thrive Express meals for Christmas and she was totally thrilled and can't wait to try them!
