Bountiful Baskets is a group of people who choose to pool their money to purchase fresh produce at wholesale prices. The site originated in Arizona & now has sites throughout the country. The Altoona site started 8 years ago.

To participate, set up an account on the website: Bountifulbaskets.org. Contributions are accepted every 2 weeks (we are week A); from Monday at noon until Tuesday at 9pm. Pick-up time is the following Saturday from 8am-8:40am, at the Cross Creek Conference Center at 1975 8th Street in Altoona.

The Conventional basket is $23.50. There is an option to get an organic basket for $10 more. There are other items that you can purchase for additional cost. Each Conventional Basket consists of 6 different fruits and 6 different vegetables. The selection varies each time & we do not know ahead of time what we will get.

There are no minimums, you order as often or as little as you choose. Compared to the cost at grocery stores, the items would cost between $45-65 depending on the store and items we get.

The sites are run by the following volunteer coordinators, Teri Henkels, Marcia Roth, Kelly and Mark Northway, & Lisa Stuart.
