Our team works hard every day caring for our animals, tending the farm, helping our customers, and making Vestergaard Farms a special place to visit. Today, we want them to have something just as important - time with the people they love.

We are incredibly grateful for our Vestergaard Farms family and for all of YOU who continue to support our local farm.

There’s something special about an early weekend morning on the farm. 🌾❤️

The air is a little crisper. The fields are still quiet. The animals graze peacefully with their young nearby, and for a little while, everything seems to slow down.

After this week’s rain, the farm feels especially beautiful. The pastures are green, and Mother Nature has given our flower fields and U-Pick gardens exactly the drink they needed. 🌸

Our Farm Store is stocked with pasture-raised chicken, along with freshly arrived pasture-raised, mainly grass-fed beef and pork bacon patties - just in time for the weekend grill. 🥩🐓

Come wander the farm. Visit the animals. Pick some flowers. Take home something good for dinner.

Sometimes the simplest days are the ones you remember. ❤️

⛈️🌤️ Everyone at Vestergaard Farms is safe - and the sun is back out! ❤️🐄 After today’s storms, we’ve had quite a few people reach out to ask about the animals. We’re happy to report that everyone is OK!

One question we hear a lot is: Where do all the animals go when there’s a tornado or severe weather?

When bad weather is approaching, our barn animals are brought safely inside and secured in the barn. And here’s the amazing part - they often know a storm is coming before we do! Animals are incredibly sensitive to changes in the weather, and you can often see a change in their behavior before the storm arrives.

But in true Michigan fashion… the storm has passed, the sun is back out, and the herd is already back in the pasture grazing like nothing ever happened. 🐄☀️🌱

And there was one very welcome benefit from today’s weather: our vegetable gardens and flowers desperately needed that rain! 🌻🍅🌽🌸 Everything got a good, long drink.

Caring for this farm means taking the good with the unpredictable - sunshine, rain, snow and the occasional Michigan storm.

Thank you to everyone who checked in on us today. It means so much to know how many people in our community care about the farm and the animals who call Vestergaard Farms home.

Fresh from processing and in the Farm Store TODAY! Our newest batch of pasture-raised chicken has arrived at Vestergaard Farms - just in time for Labor Day weekend! 🇺🇸🔥
