“Market On The Miami” the local area indoor Farmer’s Market will be held on Saturday
October 26th from 9a.m.-12p.m. at the Tin Roof Restaurant in Troy located in Treasure
Island Park. “Market On The Miami” is a collaboration of local vendors who produce
locally grown, homemade cottage foods, local non cottage foods “Market On The Miami” the local area indoor Farmer’s Market will be held on Saturday
October 26th from 9a.m.-12p.m. at the Tin Roof Restaurant in Troy located in Treasure
Island Park. “Market On The Miami” is a collaboration of local vendors who produce
locally grown, homemade cottage foods, local non cottage foodsand artisan items who
make them available on the second and the fourth Saturdays of the month October of
2013 through May of 2014.
Our October 26th featured vendor is Grubb-Shop Provisions a creation of Jennifer Grubb
out of Dayton, OH. With the help of her husband and daughter, she has created a
unique line of specialty baked goods and small-batch preserves utilizing the best the
Greater Dayton area has to offer. Grubb-Shop makes it a point to source as locally as
possible, traveling to area farms and farmers markets to hand-pick the best produce at
its peak, as well as using as many other locally grown products as possible. Grubb-Shop
strives to use the best quality ingredients, supporting the local products with the use of
organic and non-GMO ingredients whenever they can be found.
This family-run and supported company has hopes for expansion, and has already
delved into the active and athletic world, debuting a line dubbed Fit Bits. Fit Bits are
scratch-made protein and energy bars and bites using minimal and high-quality
ingredients, without the preservatives and questionable substances often found in
prepackaged items.
Grubb –Shop Provisions will also provide baked goods for a party or shower, or for the
rapidly approaching holidays, or want to put together a "locally-made" gift? Grubb-Shop
also handles "per request" items, which can be ordered ahead of time and picked up at
the Market on the Miami. They offer cookies, quick breads/muffins/scones (sweet and
savory), crackers (sweet and savory), pastries, coffee cakes, brownies, marshmallows,
caramels, nut mixes...really the sky's the limit! With all their great products it as natural
as the ingredients they use, to support this Market On The Miami vendor.
On October 26th Market On The Miami vendors will offer homemade jams, jellies, fruit
butters, baked goods, gourmet roasted coffee, soaps, herbal seasoning mixes, pet
treats, candy, honey, maple syrup, sorghum, hot sauce, noodles and fruits and
vegetables in season.
Market vendors will also offer original and reproduction art items made by local artisans
including hand thrown ceramics, jewelry, one of a kind wooden, slate, glass and dyed
and or painted fabric items. Have History Will Travel, historian Terry Purke will also be in
attendance to talk to shoppers and answer question about local history.
The Tin Roof Restaurant is housed in the historic boathouse on the banks of the Miami
River and is located at 439 North Elm Street, also known as North 25A in Troy, at
Treasure Island Park next to the boat ramp .The market can also be accessed by the
Miami River and the bike path in Troy.
