This is Debbie I'm sure you know: I have just a little minute this morning so I wanted to tell you something I'm doing. So many of you have walked our journey with David and myself over the years as we tried to follow the Lord and how He often puts me in the classroom to learn Him better. I'm back in the classroom. One I did not choose to be in or want to learn about. It's called grief. I thought I knew all I ever wanted to know about it from afar. But now it's personal. Oh it's a journey and a hard one. I actually started a class last Sunday called Grief Share that is 13 weeks long. I have homework too. Everyone in my class has something in common. Grief from loosing someone they loved. A statement that screamed at me was this: the only way to escape grief is to never love. So true. I was talking with one of my neighbors last night as I was raking a grave. We talked about loosing our pets. He said it's just too hard to loose them so he didn't think he would have another. I have thought that sometimes as well but then I realize all the love I'd miss without loving them. The class I'm in is for people that has loss humans not pets that was just an example I was telling you about love and grief. So I was very unsure as I pulled into the parking lot last week. It brought back a memory of a different sort that happened to me when I pulled into the oncology department in Birmingham in 2004 for testing of a cyst. I thought to myself HOW DID I GET HERE? I thought this very thing Sunday but I walked thru the door to a room of people asking themselves the same question. I think it's going to be a hard class but one that is part of the journey. I'll share about it with you at times. And yes there are seats left if someone wants to go. You may contact me for the information.
