Ashley’s Seafood

Ashley’s Seafood Providing you with local caught seafood sourced sustainably and 100% traceable. We would often wonder, where was our local fish? Why wasn't it here?

Our Ashley's Seafood adventure began in 2013 when my husband Travis worked as a deckhand for the local fishing vessel (f/v) Second Wind, Trinidad, CA.. After his first few months of Dungeness Crab season he was hooked and every day after he and I would talk for hours about selling our catch to our community. Flash Forward to 2019 we were the proud new owners of our beautiful 1954 f/v Sandy B. Sitt

ing at just over 44 feet our girl is a little to big for our beloved Trinidad so we relocated to Woodley Island Marina. From there our dreams took flight selling our catch at our local farmers markets. October of 2019 we merged with Cap'n Zach's Crab house and took the permeant plunge into real brick and mortar. Our new location gives us the opportunity to provide you and your loved ones with the best seafood available on our coast. We source our fish from our vessel as well as others, providing opportunities to local fishermen a market for their catch. Me, Travis and our crew absolutely love connecting with you through our locally caught seafood bringing a long lost and loved tradition to your table.

That’s a wrap for us this crab season!

It feels good to have the gear out of the water to pivot and over to fish. But crab season is still happening and you can still find people selling off the dock.

Happy crab season!

Good morning from the fishing vessel Aguero! .

I love when Travis sends me pictures of his daily commute to work. We have been a little more stagnant than I’d like to be on our socials. Lately I’ve had my head in books, screens, quite literally staring at walls trying to make sense of what things will theoretically look like down the road. The not so thrilling things of running a business. Just me sitting down trying to learn new things. Luckily I have friend and mentor who reminds me how growth is supposed to be hard and where we are today is vastly different from where we’re were last year, last month, last week. So we are trolling along and ramping up for summer.

Im so excited to start fish season to kick things off for our adventure and see you all at Dockside Market and beyond!

🦀A quick trip to Newport Or. for this fishing family to search for crab pots. We got to explore some of Newport and wander around on the way home with a trailer full of crab pots. It was fun but it’s good to be home!

Good morning from F/V Aguero

No filters. No music overlap. Just a boat, on the ocean on a beautiful commute to work.

Life of a fisherman’s wife-

In the past years the start of crab season means go time for both me and Travis and don’t get me wrong I love working. He’d be fishing and I’m up preparing to cook and sell crab. All of the excitement in lines up the street of anxiously waiting crab lovers waiting to get their first crab of the season.

But we decided that this year would look a little different. We still feel the excitement of the start of the season but it can be a lot on our Viv. She’s always been a champion but this year we decided we were going to maintain those slow mornings and after school routines.

It’s a super stressful time of the year for our fishing families. Moms and Dads are out working for long hours, on hours of intermittent sleep. So to help with peace of mind, our first week of crab season is about family. Sending picture updates of fun activities and boat moments to each other, frequent check-ins and trying to decompress from all of the stress that leading up to a season can bring. Loaded with handmade good luck charms from Viv, Trav and the crew are out on the water with the rest of the fleet catching crabs and we are rooting for full pots at home.

We will be back out there next week so be looking for updates in the near future of our pop up booth at farmers markets.
