🌱 Roots & Harvest Community Wins the 2025 Missouri Grown Farm to Table Award! 🌱

Today at the Missouri Governor’s Ag Conference held at the Columbia Executive Center in Columbia, MO, Roots & Harvest Community was honored with the 2025 Missouri Grown Farm to Table Award — a recognition given to an organization that champions the mission of getting local food onto the plates of our communities.

Executive Director Jasmin LeBlanc accepted the award, joined by Tressie Gilmore Board President and Dawnya Mashburn, Board Member representing the incredible heart and hands behind this work.

A Word From Our Executive Director:
“This award belongs to every farmer, producer, volunteer, student, and partner who has believed in the potential of a stronger, more connected local food system. Together, we are proving that when communities invest in each other, everyone thrives.” — Jasmin LeBlanc

What This Award Means:
According to Missouri Grown:
“This award recognizes a Missouri Grown member, organization or, business who is connecting schools, ECEs, businesses and communities with Missouri agriculture, and is a champion for farm to table efforts.”

We are deeply humbled to be recognized for living out this mission every day.

Our Farm-to-Table Impact
At Roots & Harvest Community, we’ve worked to build stronger local food systems in Southwest Missouri by:

Opening Missouri’s first Farm Stop, a year-round consignment-style hub connecting 70+ local farmers directly to consumers

Developing youth internships and school partnerships, cultivating the next generation of agriculture and food-system leaders

Expanding farm-to-restaurant sourcing, getting local ingredients onto menus across the region

Piloting CSA partnerships, developing food as medicine inititives, improving access to farm-fresh food for families and workplaces

Building networks across 10 SW Missouri counties to support producers, reduce food deserts, increase local food access and strengthen rural economies

Thank you to Missouri Grown, the Missouri Department of Agriculture, and the Governor’s Ag Conference for this meaningful recognition.
And thank YOU — our community — for supporting this mission from the very beginning.

This is just the beginning.
Rooted in purpose. Harvesting change.

Today Arctic Food Equipment dropped off a beautiful new fridge that will serve as the new community free produce fridge for our area. We are so thankful for the ongoing partnership with them!
Roots And Harvest Community is a 501c3 non-profit that, in addition to running Missouri's first Farm Stop, is tackling all the parts needed for a secure local food system for all of the rural counties in SW Missouri, while supporting all of our hardworking farmers and producers. We are excited to work with local partners to increase local food access to all the citizens of our area. The fridge is one small step in that direction. The Neighborhood Leadership Academy provided the grant to purchase the fridge, the Ash Grove Pharmacy is housing the fridge, and Roots and Harvest will manage the stocking of the fridge with donations from our farm partners, as well as donations from Muncy's Supermarket -, Hiland Dairy and other partners from the area. The "Community Free-dge" will be operational in a couple weeks with a ribbon cutting planned during Missouri Ag tour during their visit to Roots and Harvest on September 5th. This project wouldn't happen without a lot of amazingly generous local businesses and groups, and citizens like you!
If you are interested in donating towards this project just reach out and we can talk!
