Wine Tasting This Friday | 1–4 PM
If you need an excuse to slow down, sip something special, and snack on really great cheese, this is it.
This Friday, December 19th from 1–4pm, we’re hosting a free in-shop wine tasting built around three pairings we’re genuinely excited about. Thoughtful, classic, and deeply satisfying combinations that shine without trying too hard.
Here’s what we’ll be pouring and pairing:
Colston Bassett Stilton paired with Venica & Venica Merlot, Friuli, Italy 2021
A cooler-climate Merlot that feels tailor-made for Stilton. Blue and violet fruit up front, followed by savory notes like rhubarb, pink peppercorn, and tomato leaf. The tannins are integrated, the acidity keeps everything lively, and the whole pairing lands rich but balanced.
Pecorino Tartufo paired with Ca’ del Baio Barbaresco “Autinbej” 2022
Truffles and Nebbiolo are best friends, and Pecorino makes the trifecta complete. This Barbaresco is a longtime favorite around here. Playful enough not to overpower the cheese, structured enough to stand up to meat dishes or age gracefully in the cellar if you can resist opening another bottle.
1655 Gruyère paired with Muri Gries Gewürztraminer, Alto Adige, Italy 2024
One of those pairings that just works. Aromatic and lifted, with flowers, orchard fruit, spice, and bright acidity that cuts beautifully through a matured alpine cheese. If you love Gruyère, this is the bottle that makes it sing.
The tasting is free and casual. Come by for a quick sip or stay awhile and talk cheese. No reservations needed.
See you Friday,
