Hurricane Helene update:
In order to help avert an imminent public health crisis, I am providing residential trash service to many of the hubs of relief activity in some of the hardest to reach places in Swannanoa. Trash pickup has been severely impacted in virtually all of the small communities that were in the path of widespread destruction from flooding and landslides. Roads have been destroyed, trash trucks have been destroyed, and many roads are still impassable for large trucks due to erosion, debris, and downed power lines.
I cannot in good conscience charge people that lost everything to put their rotten foods and mud covered personal belongings in a dumpster and haul it away for them. I found a volunteer with experience to drive the truck and do hauling runs, to keep me available to apply my specialized skills and resources where they are most needed.
The fuel for the truck and the dump fees are currently being paid for out of pocket by my small business. If you would like to donate to help keep this service flowing, it would be much appreciated. (Venmo below)

If you are able to connect me with an organization that will help to fund this endeavor, please do. Trash service isn’t glorified but it is desperately needed. Not to mention the amount of storm cleanup, which hasn’t even begun.
Communicate with those around you, ask if they are ok, and have patience as we are all trying to find the path forward
