We know this drought is hard on growers and we hope to have more produce by the end of September. In the meantime cone get done muscadines and scuppernongs crafts and more.

August was a wildly dry month for growers and the drought and heat continues. At today’s market we have two growers Cherry Creek Orchards and Bottle Tree Poultry Farm along with jams, jellies and more. Thank you growers. We know more produce is coming.

Our hope is to land the farmers market at Highway 5 and Shiloh Rd. There is a wonderful space there that would be a great location. We do have a 2nd location that we have put on the table. The Shiloh Rd location is our number one choice by far.

We are hoping the Town of Ashland will come through and support the community by providing us a place to build a market place like they have in Walnut Gove and in many towns around MS.

Our goal is to provide access to locally grown produce, proteins, baked goods, jams, jellies, arts crafts and so much more to the people of Ashland, Benton county and everyone driving into our little community.

Our market, and every farmers market, is so much more then that there are lots of other great things our market brings to Ashland. BCFM is a small business incubator. We are a community gathering place. And we help bring money into Ashland and the people that live here.

We hope Mayor Mitch Carrol and the duly elected Alderman join us in supporting the people of Ashland, Benton County and beyond by providing a place for us to build a dedicated farmers market facility.
