Thursday, Oct 16 is fall break, and I still have extra apples. So, if you want to come and pick on Thursday, let me know. Anytime on Thursday should work. Right now we have winecrisp, cameo, shizuka, liberty, and fuji apples.

This is probably the last week for peaches. If you want to come and pick, we will be open for picking every evening this week (8/25-8/29). The Carolina Gold peaches are a small peach with excellent traditional peach flavor. Let me know if you want to come pick. We also have lots of apples.

The last group of peaches is ripe now. We have lots of them, so we are opening up the orchard for picking on Tuesday evening (8/19), Thursday evening, and Friday afternoon. We also have baking, juicing, and eating apples. My children have been making cider for us to drink, and it has been excellent. If you would like to come and pick peaches or apples, let me know.

We will also be open for picking on this Saturday, Aug. 16 after 9:30. We have 6 varieties of apples available for picking. We apples that are good for eating fresh, apple sauce, and baking. We also have a few peaches. Let me know if you want to come and pick.

This is the last week before I have to go back to school to teach. Once I go back to school, opportunities for Upick will be limited. The following varieties of apples are currently ripe: Williams Pride, Dandee Red (a McIntosh type), Sansa, Ginger Gold, and Zestar. We may or may not have peaches, depending upon when you come. My schedule is pretty flexible this week, so just contact me with some possible times if you want to come out and pick.

Starting Monday, August 4, we will be open for picking peaches. The days we will be open are Monday in the afternoon or evening, Tuesday at anytime, Thursday at anytime, and Friday afternoon. We also have some bubble gum plums and Sansa, Williams Pride, Dandee Red, and Ginger Gold apples. Make sure you contact me first so I can be sure that there will be peaches available when you come.

Blackberries are available for picking. Because of our current picking schedule, you can schedule a time to pick on Tuesday or Thursday evening or Wednesday or Friday morning. Contact us if you are interested in picking. We also have apples available for picking.

Rain is good for the orchard in general, but the last few days of rain and high humidity caused the black berries to swell and ripen too quickly. Black berries need to ripen slowly to get their sweet flavor. So, this morning we went our and stripped anything that was ripe from the plants and threw dozens of pints away because they don't taste good. We did however save around 30 pints that we think are mostly good berries. We are not confident enough to sell them at market, but if someone was going to make wine or jelly out of them they would probably be fine. They are on sale for $2 a pint - significantly less than the $6.50 we charge for them at farmer's market. Message me if you would like to buy them.

Yellow Pristine apples are ripe and available for upick. They are good for baking or eating fresh. We also have a few plums left. You can schedule a time to pick on Tuesday, Wednesday afternoon, Thursday, or Saturday. On hot days, you can also pick in the evenings if you want to avoid the direct sun.
