Safe milk handling -

We want your milk to last as long as possible so here’s a few tips -

*Store in the body of your refrigerator. The door has the most temperature swing and can impact quality.

*When picking up, bring a cooler bag/cooler/some way to keep it cold.

*If at a market, get your milk last or bring an insulated bag or cooler.

If you’ve noticed a trend it’s - keep it cold!

And as temperatures go up during the summer, it’s even more important to be proactive.

No picture but - we just had the craziest chore experience-

Mike went to collect eggs (dark of course) and there was a SKUNK 🦨 in the coop!!

It’s been taken care of, but man, it smells awful here now.

This might not quite make sense to y’all, but let me tell you - this right here, is the future of our creamery!

This weekend we are in the process of deconstructing this incredible milking setup, to move it to its new home - our farm. We’re so excited about making this kind of progress!!

Nature and science are just so cool, but also sometimes sad and messy. Nature can be a violent place.

I didn’t know until one egg broke, but the hen sitting eggs is kicking eggs out from under her, could be because she’s got too many, not developing right or too warm. I will leave them next time.

But this one broke and we got to see science at work! In probably a short 14 days, this could have been a chick.

53 … yes, 53 eggs. Plus who knows how many under the sassy hen who tried to bite me 😬 plus a little conversation with Mike about fireflies 🥰

To say the last three weeks have a been a lot would be the understatement of 2026.

I went on my dairy trip and was home just a few days before we found out my youngest brother in law passed away very unexpectedly. So, on my 7th day home, Jastin and I flew back to Oregon for the week.

Thankfully, my Dad (who flew in from OR the day we left) helped the kids hold down the fort here. And a thanks to Mom too, who held their fort down without Dad.

It’s been a lot, and we sure appreciate y’all sticking with us during life’s unpredictable twists and turns! We’ll be back to regular cow and farm content asap!
