Hey everyone! Sorry for the late price sheet post.

I just got word that we can still get crawfish, but quantities will be very limited as this will be the last week of the season. Both of our crawfish farms are shutting down for the year.

If anyone needs a sack of crawfish for this weekend, please let me know by 12:00 PM on Wednesday so I can get everyone’s orders in.

Hey everyone, just a quick thing I noticed last night during our first event.

OceanRoots Fresh Seafood Company is a true Cajun-style food truck. We do things a little differently than some of the other seafood boil places around North Alabama. We don’t cover our seafood in garlic butter, chili oil, or other sauces. Instead, we heavily season our boil and allow the seafood to soak so the flavor penetrates deep into every bite. That’s the traditional Louisiana way I was taught.

We also don’t do boiled eggs. While there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the fusion-style seafood boils you see all over social media and TikTok, that’s just not what we do. We aren’t a fusion food truck—we focus on authentic Cajun seafood prepared the way it was taught to us.

I want to be clear that this isn’t a knock on anyone else. I love seeing other local businesses succeed and support anyone out there working hard. I simply wanted to explain why our seafood may be a little different from what some people are used to.

In the future, we may offer melted butter for our snow crab legs, but our goal is to season everything so well that it stands on its own without needing extra sauces.

If anyone ever has questions about our cooking process, menu, or seasoning style, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m always happy to answer questions and talk seafood.

Good morning everyone!

I just wanted to get on here and share our experience from our first event and our first Friday After 5.

To be completely honest, things didn’t run as smoothly as we had hoped. We had several hiccups before opening and during our first hour of operation. However, we learned a lot, and because of that, we’ll be much better prepared for future events and the next Friday After 5.

First, I want to thank everyone who stopped by and was patient with us while we worked through the challenges and got orders out. After the first hour, Brent and I found a system that worked well for us, and things really started to smooth out around 6:15 PM.

A special thank you to Mrs. Richardson for inviting us to participate in Friday After 5. We truly appreciate the opportunity and are grateful to have been included in such a great community event.

We did run into an issue when we unexpectedly ran out of fuel for our generator. I want to give a huge shoutout to Chef D over at Tim Tim’s Fry Wagon for stepping in to help us out and lending us fuel. He offered so much support, encouragement, and advice throughout the evening, and we’re incredibly grateful for it.

I’d also like to thank Corndogg Cravins for being so kind and helping us out with a lighter and even some water after we realized we forgot to bring drinks for ourselves. The support from our fellow vendors was amazing, and we’re truly thankful.

Everyone was so welcoming, supportive, and willing to help, and that meant a lot to us as first-time vendors.

We hope you all enjoyed the food, and we want to thank everyone who stopped by and gave us a try. Next time around, we’ll be even better prepared and hope to offer an expanded menu.

We’ll also be bringing our jumbo 10 oz snow crab clusters to future events, as both the shrimp and crab legs sold out much faster than expected!

Thank you all again for making our first event such a memorable learning experience. We appreciate every single one of you and can’t wait to see everyone at the next event!

Hey everyone! We’ve been keeping a little secret. I’ve been scrambling all week trying to get everything together, and we’re excited to finally share the news!

We were invited to be a vendor at Friday After 5 this Friday, and we couldn’t be more excited to be part of one of Athens’ biggest events. This will be our very first event and the first time taking the food trailer out.

Since this is our first event, please bear with us if we hit a few bumps along the way. We’re working hard to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible. Hopefully, the rain holds off and we have some beautiful weather!

We will have a limited menu for Friday After 5 featuring crawfish, shrimp, and crab legs. We may add one more item, but for now we’re going to stick to our roots.

Hey everyone, just a quick little update — we are officially sold out for the weekend! All of our extra stock sold off extremely fast.

I highly recommend placing pre-orders in advance, especially around the holidays, as both we and other seafood companies around North Alabama tend to sell out quickly during this time.

Happy Friday everyone! Just putting the finishing touches on the menu and wanted to give y’all a little sneak peek.

Our menu will stay small because I’ve always believed in quality over quantity. That’s been the goal from the very beginning. We’ll also have specials and introduce different items throughout the year to keep things fresh and exciting.
