Our Farmers Market is a community-driven, education-oriented farmers market that supports local economic development and community wellness. Customers with SNAP/EBT will receive double their dollars on fresh produce items.

The West Broad Farmers Market will be on hiatus for the 2025 market season. Athens Land Trust’s Community Agriculture Program will use this time to recharge, and our staff looks forward to reopening when the market’s permanent home is located.

Our Community Agriculture Program continues to support Athens Land Trust’s commitment to neighborhood revitalization by encouraging a sustainable local food system in some of Athens’ most food-insecure communities, strengthening the local economy, and building unity and wellness at the community level through other ongoing initiatives, which you can read about in our full statement linked below.

We still encourage Athenians to shop small and engage with the local food system by supporting other farmers markets nearby, including the Marigold Market in Winterville, Georgia, where the Young Urban Farmers will sell fresh produce on the occasional Saturday.

We are immensely grateful to the farmers, vendors, volunteers, and loyal customers who have supported the market thus far. Their dedication and passion have made West Broad Farmers Market a special place, and we look forward to seeing them again soon.

The market season has come to an end last week was our last market of the season we will now be rolling out with our grow your business classes until the market season comes back up next year. Our Story

The West Broad Farmers Market and Garden started a 1/2-acre production oriented, Certified Naturally Grown urban farm using Biointensive growing methods to support a Community “Sponsored” Agriculture (CSA) Program and a weekly produce stand. The West Broad Farmers Market is now located in its new home at 300 S. Rocksprings St. and the West Broad Community Garden is located at 8198 Waddell St. On a typical day, the market features fresh produce, baked goods, local artisans, live music, wifi, nutrition education, sustainable gardening workshops and health screenings.

Due to the threat of COVID-19 to our community, we have had to scale back on public gatherings and community activities, and customers can now shop the West Broad Farmers Market online or via phone at 706-613-0122. The Market will “open” on Sunday each week at 5:00 pm and shoppers will be able to purchase items via the website until 1:00 pm on Thursday, at which point the market will “close”. Shoppers will be able to pick up their orders via a drive-thru format at the Housing Authority parking lot on Saturday each week between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm. There is no fee to sign up to shop with the market, and payment is accepted upon pick-up. The market will be available for the first week of shopping on Sunday, May 3rd, and the first pickup will be Saturday, May 9th. In addition to the online option, residents in the West Broad neighborhood will have the ability to have menus delivered to their homes each week with a delivery option.
