I hope soap is on everyone’s Christmas list this year… because the number of bars we have made this month is well into the hundreds. 🎄 I wanted to count up how much Beef Tallow, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, and Olive Oil that equates too but midnight is not the time for me to be doing math like that. 😂

Soap takes about six weeks to cure, so around here, Christmas prep starts long before the shopping does and let me tell y'all, I. AM. RUNNING. OUT. OF. ROOM.

Last night, I *think* I made our last bars for Christmas. Knowing me, that probably just means I’m taking a day or two before deciding we need another batch.

There’s a lot of planning and making happening behind the scenes, all with the hope that something handmade at Deeded Oaks finds its way under your tree. 🤍

I have been getting a lot of feedback off the Spearmint-Basil soap the last few days. That seems to be a year-round favorite. Do you have a favorite soap scent? If so, let us know in the comments below and it might just inspire that batch I'll make in a few days :D

As a mama, my goal is to be present.

As a business owner, my goal is to build a life that allows it.

This week looked different than we expected. Mama required a lot of rest, a little recouping, and some much-needed time to just sit (although I’ll admit, I don’t do that well).

Today, that looked like the Blueberry Bandit fishing while I sat in a sunny spot making lists and doing some behind the scenes organizing on what’s next for Deeded Oaks.

Resting, but still dreaming.
Working, but still present.

And thank goodness this was a family affair because 3 seconds after I took this, we had a fishing pole malfunction and Tah was on the scene to support. 🤍

A lot of my products have been tried and tested for over a decade. But then there’s the exception… soap. 🧼 About a year ago a friend heard I’d been wanting to make soap and encouraged me to do it. So for the last year we’ve made and shared soap. Thanks to many of you, there’s already a list of favorite scents and base combos.

This year, I’ve focused more on ingredients, quality, and consistency and less on design. But with Christmas coming up, my creative brain has been in overdrive. This is one of our latest creations. 😍

The best part? We got the green color straight from our kitchen pantry! The lighter green is shaded with avocado, and the darker with moringa powder. It’s got a base with shea butter to make it extra creamy and full of lather and a hit of Sage to tie the scent in. When we promise to never compromise on ingredients, this is what we mean. 🥑

Four FULL days. And somehow, sitting here at the end of it all, my heart feels nothing but gratitude.

I just keep thinking about all of YOU.

Athens, Limestone County, Thank you. Truly.

To every single person who stopped by our booth this week — thank you. Whether you bought something, came back for something you’ve bought before, introduced yourself for the first time, brought a friend over and said “this is the place I was telling you about,” or simply stopped long enough to say hello — you absolutely blew us away. You all are incredible.

We hugged so many of you. We caught up with old friends and made new ones. We talked about products and gardens and kids and life. We heard your stories. We laughed. We waved at familiar faces from across the crowd. And more than once, I stood there looking around, thanking God.

Because Deeded Oaks started in a way very different than where we’re at now.

It started at home, with a need. With things I was making for my own family. With friends trying them. For over a decade, that was us. Then it was a little roadside stand and more figuring it out as we went. And then you all showed up.

You have shared our posts. Told your friends about us. Come back for another bottle. Asked when something would be back in stock. Encouraged us. Trusted the things we make enough to take them into your own homes and use them with your own families.

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to explain what that means to me and I don’t take your trust or support for granted.

This week, you didn’t just support a small business. You reminded me WHY I love doing this in the first place.

So to everyone we met, hugged, chatted with, laughed with, waved to from afar, and sent home carrying a little piece of Deeded Oaks — thank you. YOU filled my heart.

You showed up for us in a way I never could have expected.

And you absolutely, completely blew us away. 🤍

Four very full days. One very tired family. And hearts that are somehow even fuller. (But we are absolutely taking a break tomorrow before a big surprise Monday!)

From our family to yours, thank you for loving this little thing we’re building.

We really do figure it out together. 🌿

And if you saw the new artwork at the booth tonight, yes, it’s a blueberry bandit original. 💙
