A market conceived as a community wide resource for health promotion in the East Atlanta Corridor. Heartbeat Community Markets will operate 6 days a week Tuesday-Sunday, on a year round basis and will feature:
• Live entertainment by emerging local performers
• Georgia Grown and limited resource farm grown fresh produce and proteins
• Individual vendors of products that range from freshly made jam

s, nutrition supplements and naturally produced health care items, to gardening boxes for your balcony
• Health screenings ( ie breast screenings, blood pressure and diabetic screenings etc.) in partnership with the County Health Department and the Metro Atlanta medical community
• Preventive medical care services
• Appropriate referrals to outlying patient-centered medical homes for continuity of care
• Individually tailored food prescriptions which can be filled by fresh produce vendors on-site and Heartbeat pulse markets at local retailers throughout the community
• Nutrition and life-style coaching by certified nutrition educators and healthy food preparation demonstration
• Exercise programs and obesity prevention
