To our village- THANK YOU!! Thank you for your genuine support, prayers, encouraging messages to Cole, gifts, hugs, showing up to games, text messages checking in on him, sent bible verses, basketball workouts, referrals, and the love you have shown to my family, some since birth and others along his journey- we are overwhelmed and so deeply grateful to each of you!! Our family, our friends, Cole’s coaches and mentors—thank you for loving my son, for supporting him, for speaking into his life, and for helping shape the man he is today.
This moment belongs to all of us.  Thank you for being our village! (It’s so many of y’all name, but you know who you are, Jerry and I see you😘)

May 2, 2026 was a special day and marked a milestone—one that represents years of effort, growth, sacrifice, and perseverance. You’ve shown up on the days you felt confident and on the days you didn’t and that matters more than you might realize.

Cole but here’s the truth no one says enough on days like this: graduation is not the finish line, it’s a doorway and now, you stand here with an earned master’s degree… we are proud!
Not just because of what you’ve accomplished but because of who you are. Cole, you are a strong, loving, principled, caring servant leader and as your parents, one of the things that has meant the most to us is this: you show up.
You shown up when it’s hard.
You shown up when you’re tired.
You shown up when things don’t come easy and as a college basketball player, you’ve learned what it means to push, persevere, and to stay disciplined and what makes us proud isn’t just how you show up on the court—it’s how you show up in your life, in your faith, and in your character. Cole, as your parents, if we could leave you with anything as you step into this next season, it would be this: Trust God with your life. You don’t have to have everything figured out. You won’t always have all the answers. Things won’t always go the way you planned and you are allowed grow into your calling. But God is ordering your steps. (Proverbs 16:9) says In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” 
You just have to stay grounded in who you are and whose you are. And when life gets hard—and it will—don’t forget that God is still present, still powerful, and still faithful. 
Philippians 1:6 reminds us that “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion…” 
 
Keep being a man of integrity, a man who listens and a man who leads with both strength and compassion and who stands firm—even when it’s difficult.
 In Micah 6:8, we are told to Act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly. Because the world doesn’t just need more educated people—it needs more people of character. We love dearly and excited to see the man you are becoming and the life you’re building!

Happy 50th Birthday, my love!

You are one of the most steady and constant people I know—the kind of person who shows up, stands firm, and loves with quiet strength. You’ve always been my safe place… even when life feels uncertain, you never are. I appreciate how you hold so many beautiful things together—you lead with faith, you love with intention, and you care in ways that don’t always need words! Thank you for being that person in every season, being my partner and my anchor and I’m so grateful I get to walk through life with you through every laugh, every challenge, and every new adventure ahead.
Jerry, 50 just means you’ve had more time to perfect your wisdom, your dad jokes, and your “selective hearing” but somehow, you keep getting better—more thoughtful, more adventurous, and even more handsome!!!

50 never looked so good… and I have a feeling the best is still yet to come.

This year, I decided to celebrate a little differently — by hosting a calligraphy class! It’s a form of art I’ve always wanted to learn and what better time than my birthday to try something new and meaningful, right?!

Calligraphy is full of color, curves, straight lines, and loops — kind of like my life. It’s imperfect, expressive, intentional, beautiful, graceful, fun, full of love and still unfolding… and I love that. 💫

Here’s to more growth, creativity, graceful living, and celebrating the beauty in every stroke of life. Cheers to this next chapter of my life! 🥂🎨💕

I thank you for it all!!! Two young adults committed to family and faith has produced a college graduate. Proud is too simple of a word to describe how we feel in this moment but to have front row seats to the perseverance, faith, hard-work, commitment, dedication Cole has demonstrated is inspiring for us and family!!Now Cole joins several generations of college graduates in our family and many college athletes! Job well done sweetheart!

You have come and stolen all of our hearts from your beautiful smile, your playful nature, the thoughtful and considerate conversations we have, your love for people and your absolute brilliance and creativity that shows up in everything you do, that’s what makes you a beautiful girl inside and out! Keep growing, keep thriving, keep learning, and keep loving!! we love you all the way to the moon and back, and we thank God that he gave us the most beautiful girl in the world!

On Saturday, July 26, 2024, Michele Evans, our BTB Executive Adminstrative was rushed by ambulance to the emergency room with a severe headache, high blood pressure, and nausea. The situation rapidly escalated and she was admitted into the Intensive Care Unit. Michele became unresponsive and was placed on a ventilator while in a medically induced coma. Doctors identified a life-threatening infection affecting multiple parts of her body, including her brain.

In the past week, Michele has undergone two surgeries, numerous tests, and intensive treatments. During this time she also suffered a stroke, making her path to recovery even more uncertain and prolonged. Michele’s husband, Dion, has been by her side around the clock while managing the home and comforting their three children. Dion has had to take unpaid leave from work to support his family at this difficult time of his wife being in critical condition.

In the first three days, Dion was told by the ICU’s registration staff that the bill had already reached approximately $240,000. Even with insurance, the out-of-pocket cost is very high. Doctors have indicated that Michele will need extensive and ongoing care over the coming weeks. In light of these challenges, we are reaching out for your support to help with medical expenses and other costly aspects for the family as they navigate her care, recovery, and logistics.

Your generosity will provide much-needed relief during this challenging period. Every contribution, no matter the size, is deeply appreciated and makes a significant difference for Michele and her family. Wishing our absolute favorite youngest biggest boy an amazing 16th birthday!!! You were anxiously waiting to see the world much sooner than planned but with several months of bed rest you made your entrance leaving us shaking our heads at how amazing you are!!
