Did you know a fire started it all?

After the Great Atlanta Fire of 1917, farmers gathered under a large tent to sell livestock and produce. That temporary market grew into something much bigger.

On May 1, 1924, the Municipal Market of Atlanta opened its permanent home.

102 years later, the market remains part of Atlanta’s story. Come see what the market looks like today: 209 Edgewood Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30303!

This space went from an empty retail bay to a vibrant corner full of art, music, and life!

This area in the market was once a dark corner that blocked the skyline views. Today, it’s a place to stop, listen to jazz by Henry Caslin, take in the work of , and enjoy the energy of the market.

We’re grateful to , , and the for investing in the market and helping bring spaces like this to life.

Come see the space for yourself!
