Regional collaboration is more than a winning strategy. It’s a transformation in action. Together, we’re shaping Indiana’s future, one community at a time.

Through the READI program and support from the Lilly Endowment, the Greater Lafayette Region is coming together to turn blight into opportunity for Hoosiers.

Downtown Attica has long been defined by its historic corridor along U.S. 41 and Indiana 28. But with more than 75% of properties vacant or deteriorating, the city has faced challenges that dampen growth and investment. With a proposed $4 million award toward a $33 million investment, the Attica Downtown Blight project will:

🏚️➡️🏠 Transform vacant properties into vibrant spaces for business and community
🐣 Launch a business incubator to attract new ideas and entrepreneurs
🌱 Create a specialty farm and startup market to fuel innovation and local pride
🍳Build a commissary to support small businesses and regional growth

This multifaceted approach blends public and private investment to address systemic challenges while building a sustainable talent pipeline. Most importantly, this project is about people: creating places where Hoosier families thrive, entrepreneurs take root and Indiana communities grow stronger together.

The Attica Community Market will not be moving forward with a market season in 2026. We are very thankful to the marketeers/vendors who have been with us for the past few years and for everyone who has supported the Market.

We are thrilled that some of our makers have found a home in Main Street Nostalgia LLC and encourage you to support home-based vendors and locally grown food as much as your budget will allow.

Our focus for the foreseeable future will be shifted to help build up and support the groundwork that we believe is necessary to sustain a successful farmer’s market in our small community. Things like Attica Parks and Recreation’s community garden and the need for a commissary kitchen.

We would encourage our friends and neighbors to support Farmer's Market Covington, Town Square Farmers' Market, and all of the farm stands in between. Thanks again to all who have been so supportive of our Market!
