Gottenborg Apple Orchard Our 7,000 tree orchard specializes in unique varieties developed by the University of Minnesota. If apples are not the only thing you are after, pumpkins.

Gottenborg Apple Orchard is a family-owned orchard located conveniently off of US Highway 10, Audubon, MN. At our Apple Stand, we provide fresh pre-picked apples in a wide variety that are ready for purchase. Apple variety include: Zester, Sweet Sixteen, Sweet Tango, Honey Crisp, Chesnut Crab, Red Max, Harlason, and Snowsweet. We take special pride in delivering apples picked at their peak ripenes

s and take measures to ensure their quality. We also offer orchard fresh pies, apple crisp, a variety of jellies, carmel dipping, and special family recipes such as apple raisin cupcakes. potatoes and onions have made their way to the orchard along with the option of ready for purchase.

Applefest is coming! 🍎🍏

The trellis poles highlighted in my last post are now wired up and supporting bearing trees. Since then, I’ve also extended the fence boundary and planted approximately 600 additional trees, primarily Sweetango, Honeycrisp, and First Kiss.

The weather during blossom was just about perfect, which meant some varieties needed thinning. The result has been an excellent crop—I have to look hard to find any blemishes on the apples.

Looking ahead, the orchard in Audubon will open the weekend of August 29–30 and then continue every weekend throughout the season. I’ll also make my first appearance of the year at the Red River Market in downtown Fargo on Saturday, August 29. In past years, I’ve started the market season with Zestar! apples. This year, I’ll also have First Kiss (RAVE) available.

Be sure to mark your calendars for Applefest on Saturday, September 19, at the orchard in Audubon. We’ll have live music from Duly Noted Acoustic Duo from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and our friend Steve from Goodrich, ND, will once again be serving his delicious smoked pulled pork sandwiches.

We’re looking forward to another great apple season and hope to see you at the orchard or the market!

I'm alive and well.

The attached pictures show a mountain of timber but my load is for trellising and expanding the perimeter of the orchard.
We're adding some Honey Crisp, Sweetango and First Kiss.

I'm under extreme pressure to keep Amanda, LadyBug Acres' Veggie Barn and Hildebrant Farms, in West Fargo, with apples.
