🌻 A Little Market Update 🌻

After a lot of thought and planning, we've decided to put the Avon Park Farmers Market on pause for the time being.

Don't worry, we're not going anywhere. In fact, we're working on something bigger and better behind the scenes. 👀

We're busy putting together a fresh new chapter that includes a new name, a new location, new market dates and times, and a few surprises we're not quite ready to share yet. 🤫✨

Most importantly, we're building something that we believe will create even more opportunities for our vendors and an even better experience for the community that has supported us from the start. ❤️

We know that's not much to go on, but trust us when we say we're excited about what's ahead.

Be sure to keep following along with us so you don't miss any announcements. We'll be sharing all the details soon!

Thank you to everyone who has come out, supported us, and been part of the market so far. We appreciate you more than you know, and we can't wait to show you what's next.

Here we go again! This week’s veggie saga of “Katie what on earth is this?” We’re talking eggplant! But not the sad, grocery store, one-note, “why is this sponge purple?” kind. 😏🍆

I’ve got two varieties on the table this week and they are not the same thing in disguise (shocking, I know).

First up, Sicilian eggplant. Shorter, a little rounder, and way less bitter than what you’re used to. The texture is actually creamy when cooked (not the fake kind we all politely pretend to enjoy), and it soaks up flavor like it’s got a job to do. Roast it, grill it, slice it up for eggplant parm. This is the version that makes you go, “ohhh, so this is what it’s supposed to taste like.”

Then there’s the Casper white eggplant, and yes, it’s white, no it’s not unripe, and no you didn’t discover a new vegetable species. This one’s milder, slightly sweet, super tender, and doesn’t come with that tough, chewy skin situation. It cooks down smooth and almost buttery, like it’s trying to win you over and it probably will. Perfect for sautéing, tossing into a quick stir-fry, or roasting with whatever else you grabbed.

Bottom line. If you’ve been avoiding eggplant half your life, I don’t blame you. But also, you’ve probably just been eating the wrong one. This is your redemption arc. Don’t miss it! 😎
