🚨February Volume Push at Stone Mountain Meats🚨

After some progress with the upgrades and expansions to our facility we're cranking it up this month to test some capacity improvements!

In February, we're intentionally upping our processing volume to test how much more we can handle smoothly and serve even more of y'all—farmers, families, and locals.

This means extra drop-off slots available specifically for slaughter/put-down and custom processing (beef, pork,—custom-exempt or USDA):

Reach out if you are in need of something ASAP as you would fit into the availability we have below:

Monday drop-offs (anytime during hours, 8am–4pm) or later if needed:

February 2
February 9
February 16
February 23

Friday drop-offs (must be by 9am):

February 6
February 13
February 20
February 27
If you've got animals ready (steers, hogs), now's prime time—jump in and help us test these expanded capabilities! We'll handle put-down, processing, cuts your way, high yields (still averaging ~64% back to you), vacuum sealing, and more.

DM us, call 423-556-6328 (423-556-MEAT), email [email protected], or swing by 8989 Horton Highway in Baileyton to get on the books ASAP. These slots are first-come, first-served and designed to fill quick!

Who's bringing something in February? Drop a 🐄🐖 below, tag a farmer or buddy and share this—let's pack the schedule and push the limits together! "

As we turn the page to 2026, the Fillers family at Stone Mountain Meats wants to extend our deepest gratitude to our amazing customers throughout Greene County and the East Tennessee region. Your trust and support over the past year—and the last five—have made all the difference for our family-owned facility at the base of Stone Mountain in Baileyton.
We are incredibly honored to have been voted the Greeneville Sun's Best of the Best for 2025. This reader-chosen award means the world to us and reflects the confidence you've placed in our commitment to quality and integrity.
When we started this business five years ago, we set out to solve two common concerns we heard from customers: making sure you always get your own animal's meat back (no mixing with others) and guaranteeing you receive every pound you're entitled to—with nothing held back.
As engineers at heart, we love keeping detailed data—it helps us continually improve and stay accountable. That's how we know that this year alone, we processed nearly 50 tons of premium ground beef for our customers, delivering an impressive average carcass yield of 64% returned directly to you. These numbers represent our promise kept: maximizing farm-fresh beef, pork, and lamb for our customers—from animals you have put hard work, time, and money into.
For those who visit our small retail counter, you'll find the same standard of excellence—premium cuts, ground beef, sausage, ½ or whole beef , ½ or whole Hog, and specialties all sourced directly from animals we raise ourselves, grain-finished for exceptional flavor, and processed with the same care and high yields you trust ensuring the freshest, most traceable meat straight from our farm to your table
We’re also proud to be Certified Animal Welfare Approved by A Greener World, reflecting the highest standards of care and respect we show every animal that comes through our doors.
Thank you for choosing us, for your referrals, and for letting us be part of your family's table. We're committed to continuing this tradition of transparency, humane practices, and personalized service in the year ahead.
Wishing you and your loved ones a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year!

So obviously this post will be about some awesome steaks, but first, I want you to come to know a fella we have met this past month! When I was in school a couple teachers asked us to interview a couple 'experienced' people in our communities and back then I did not really understand why, but in the words of Mr. Ben Harrison, "it takes a lifetime to look back, and say you have it figured out."

So one of our good customers Tyler Laws at 24/ 7 Ranch booked a processing date for his good friend Ben Harrison. At the time of booking we had no idea who this MR. Harrison was but expected a good quality beef considering Tyler sent him our way! As the date got closer and closer a couple of the employees here got a couple calls from MR Harrison. Each conversation was very direct and sincere in which he told us that He did not want ANY BONES in his meat and He loved us and God bless us at the conclusion of every call. I do have to mention that this is one of the most written on cutsheets that I had ever filled out, but this wasn't just meat comments. In the top right of the sheet I had weights that him, his chicken buddy, and a few others had guessed his beef to weigh. At the top left was comments where he had requested to see what the carcass looked like hanging on the rail and to see his ribeye picture on this page. I had told him that only worthy steaks made it to this page! Yet here we are about to post his steak... all be it they are good looking steaks. However, the steak is not why we're here! Ben Harrison showed me an example of worthiness! Ben Harrison showed me an example that there is only ONE worthy.

Ben told me he had done about everything and tried it all! He was in the Navy from 1970-1976 and he mentioned having a sister that at birth the doctors projected not living 6 months. Ben told me that him and his wife took care of his sister Margaret for 29 years and 8 months. Ben told me to treat people fair and treat them right! Ben said that taking care of his sister had helped him with self control and personal will power. He said Ice Cream, Country Ham, and Biscuits and Gravy have always been his weakness and if he had not spent so much time caring for his sister he possibly may have not made it as long as he has.

I asked Ben for some advice or one thing he would tell the younger generation today! He started his answer with, "The younger generation today wants everything right now and to not wait for anything!" Ben said; We should "just be still and wait on the Lord," Trust God Almighty, He never knew Him to fail or let him down, Don't ever give up and keep pressing on and follow the Lord. Ben also mentioned Luke 9:62 that references plowing a row and looking back. He said if you are constantly watching others or looking back to see what you have done or what others are doing you will not succeed. He said if you are sowing a row of corn and looking back throughout that process when you arrive at the end of the row you will see a wavy line, a wavy line you'd be ashamed to tell others you planted. But if you keep your eyes on the prize (the end of the row), when you get to the end of 'your row' you can look back and take pride in the row that you have planted. Ben said, "In all thy ways acknowledge Him and he will direct thy path." Ben said that his daddy always told him: Always do the right thing and you will always come out on the right side, cutting corners or lying just gets you deeper and deeper in trouble. He said, "It takes a lifetime to look back and say you have it figured out. I wished I would have known this at 16 or 18."

Now Where's the Beef? So Ben got this Red Devon beef from Tyler Laws at 24/7 Ranch Grass Fed Beef and raised it for 10 months and 8 days. Ben said if it turns out good that Tyler would likely take the credit because he raised it for 13 months. Ben said he finished his beef for 99 days on 11% commodity feed, cracked corn, alfalfa pellots, and square baled hay in a small lot with no grass. He said that his daddy always told him to treat people and animals both the way you would want to be treated. He fed this beef 2 times a day, and it definitely paid off.

Ben thank you for your service, thank you for choosing Stone Mountain Meats and we hope you enjoy this beef youve definitely earned it sir!

Good story here:

So this local fella decides to raise his own beef and has put several hours and funds in this animal to provide great quality meals for his family! This same fella has some very ‘good’ friends ( Jacob Weems )that decided to reach out to us- to tell this same fella that his beef had worms or something very bad wrong with it to the point it should just be discarded and not consumed.

Needless to say we played along! But as you can tell below there was nothing wrong with this incredible beef! Chris Seaton did an exceptional job raising this beef. Ben Seaton Kristen Seaton
