Just a reminder that the Kern County Swap Meet will be OPEN Sunday, September 13, 2026 — our final market day before the Fair closure! 🙌

We will then be CLOSED during the Fair and are scheduled to REOPEN Friday, October 9, 2026. 📅

We’re using the closure time to keep working behind the scenes on our updated market layout, vendor space map, and other improvements.

🎡 Fair Closure & Market Map Update!

We were recently advised that our last day of operation before the Fair closure will be Sunday, September 13, 2026. And yes—we will be open on September 13! 🙌

We are scheduled to reopen on Friday, October 9, 2026. 📅
We have also spoken with the Fairgrounds, and they mentioned that they may be applying dust control to the lot during the closure. We hope to see that completed when we return after the Fair! 🤞

So, why are we posting so much about the new market map?

We are working to get the lot squared away and returned to its proper configuration. Over the years, usually following the Fair, the layout has been adjusted a little at a time. We also received additional spaces several years ago that were never properly added to the map.

Our goal is to correct the layout and create an accurate, easy-to-use printable map. Once completed, shoppers and vendors will be able to print or save it and use a vendor’s space number to easily find their location. 📍

This will be especially helpful with our Space/Vendor advertisements, which will allow vendors to showcase their space number and the products they sell. 🛍️📣

We are working hard to make the market more organized and create a better selling and shopping experience for everyone! We also have several other improvements in the works. 👀

As we have shared before, a lot is happening behind the scenes, and we are working hard to bring y’all the improvements you have been asking for. 💪

We've been working on some exciting new ideas to help our vendors get even more exposure, and we'd love to hear what you think!

Here's a couple sample concepts for a Vendor Spotlight Advertisement. These particular videos ar 100% AI-generated as a demonstration, so don't go looking for fresh produce in those spaces... 😂 It's simply a fun example of what we can create.

Our vision is to feature actual vendor spaces using real video footage captured at the Kern County Swap Meet, enhanced with a little AI magic to give it a polished, professional feel.
Vendors will have options:

🎬 Be featured on camera and introduce your business yourself.
🎙️ Or, if you'd rather stay behind the scenes, we can create a commercial using AI voice-over with an approved script.

These videos would be shared on:
✅ Our page
✅ Our website
✅ Other social media platforms..giving your business even more visibility!

We're also working on a few other exciting improvements:

📍 Uniform Vendor Space Banners – Each vendor will have the opportunity to purchase a professionally designed banner displaying their space number, business name, and logo (if they have one). We'll design and produce them to keep a clean, consistent look throughout the market.

🗺️ Updated Grounds Maps – You've probably seen some of the map previews we've been posting recently. We're continuing to fine-tune them for accuracy so visitors can easily locate vendors and navigate the swap meet.

This is just one of several ideas we're developing to help promote our vendors and make visiting the Kern County Swap Meet even better.

Progress is being made! We've been fine-tuning the layout of the back area to ensure all vendor spaces are properly aligned. Once everything is finalized, we'll update the new grounds map. In the meantime, we've been putting the drone to work and capturing some aerial views of the property.
