After several years with nothing to offer, this year we have a small crop of slowly ripening blackberries. They are available for picking in the mornings, but the supply is very limited and in varying stages of ripening. Our patch is usually not attended, but you will find clamshell containers to pick into and an honor-system box where you can leave money. Small containers are $2.50 and large containers are $5.00. If kids are helping you pick, make sure they understand to pick only dark, ripe berries and not ones that are still red. If the berries are difficult to pull from the stem, they are not yet ripe. Coming soon: cantaloupe and okra. Our farm is 1.5 miles east of Vinland at 1862 N. 700 Road.

Sorry to disappoint, but Mother Nature seems to have conspired against us. There will be no strawberries, raspberries or blackberries. If you are looking for strawberries, you might try Wohletz Farm Fresh, which is located not far from place. Last weekend they had a sign on the road advertising they were open for strawberries. Thank you to everyone for your interest in our berries and your past patronage of our farm.

Welcome to our farm! Wohletz Farm Fresh has been growing produce for the greater Lawrence, KS community for more than seven years. We are excited about your interest in our farm.

Thanks for the interest in our strawberries. We are still waiting to see whether there will be a sufficient strawberry crop to open this season. It seems the harsh winter may have caused more damage than we realized. And, for even more bad news . . . we may not have any raspberries or blackberries either. We'll post an update we we know more.

Just in time for you to make a Fourth of July cobbler . . . we're now picking blackberries! We're selling them for $2.25 per pound. The patch is open most of the day on Saturday and in the morning on Sunday and weekdays.
