Before the tea… before the markets… before Sweet Tea & Cornbread — there was a whole journey behind this smile.
✨ Meet the Owner ✨
Hey guys, I’m Danielle (Danni) — the hands and heart behind Sweet Tea & Cornbread (soon to be Tea Bar Cafe 💛)
If I really take it all the way back… my journey didn’t even start in the kitchen.
I went to Virginia State on a pre-vet track studying animal science, and somewhere along the way I realized… yeah, that wasn’t it for me.
So I switched paths and got into hospitality and food service.
I’ve done a little bit of everything — server, bartender, banquets… and worked my way up to becoming a chef in corporate America. I even went to school for wine and learned a lot about flavor and pairing along the way.
Then I went on to Johnson & Wales and really started finding my place in all of this.
After that, I stepped out on faith and started my own thing with catering — just doing what I love, feeding people, creating experiences.
From there it grew… farmers markets, my teas, my lemonades… just building it piece by piece.
And now, here I am working toward opening my own Tea Bar Cafe.
This brand means a lot to me. It’s really about Southern comfort, creativity, community… and family.
Everything I make, every flavor — it’s done with love and intention.
This isn’t just tea for me…
it’s memories
it’s healing
it’s connection
it’s family
And I’ve already put a lot into bringing this space together, but I could really use some support as I keep going.
