Tomorrow at the wednesday Coos Bay Farmers Market 9-2. We will have stuffed pumpkin muffins, pasta, cranberry bakewell tarts, other confectionery, chicken and quail eggs, fresh milled flours, and of course Gilded Krakken Studio: Home of Ursula's Handmade Treasures will have art out!

For those that follow along! This week we will not only have our seasonal bakewell tart flavor: huckleberry (straight from our homestead), but also pumpkin muffins (with a surprise filling and topped with roasted pumpkin seeds).

We will also have our fresh stone milled flours, sourdough pasta, and the regular confectionery. Find us this wednesday 9-2 Coos Bay Farmers Market . Last market before school starts... that means the last day of exploiting my teen into helping ;) lol

Omi's Pflaumenkuchen (german plum cake). A seasonal special, made in memory of my grandmother. Every year at the begining of Italian plum harvest she was always giddy as an unsupervised toddler in a candy store. For weeks there would be fresh plum cake with afternoon coffee.

A slightly sweet yeast cake topped with locally harvested italian plums.

OMG! The best chocochip cookies to use as icecream sandwiches. Today I am grateful they did not all sell out, because I get to enjoy them too ;)

Forgive the freshly hatch bird fluff build up, but I had to share. Woke up to 5 hatchlings this morning! 2 more were unzippering ;) i love a sucessful hatch.

So excited! put the incubator into lockdown today, and already have 2 quail chicks (quicklettes) fully hatched and 3 other eggs unzipping. Already another color variation I was not expecting. Like a box of chocolates... never know what you are going to get.

So grateful after the last debacle: of ordering hatching eggs and NOT ONE was viable. Worst off, the company just blew me off with no response to my follow up emails!

I am always interested in adding to my genetic pool, if you know anyone who has quail locally and I can buy some hatching eggs from them. Please let me know. I do this for fun :)
