We’ve been picking LOTS of Honeycrisp today!

Ever wonder why Honeycrisp cost more?

🍎 They’re extremely delicate and require extra care when picking.
🍎 They require more fertilizer and care throughout the growing season.
🍎 They’re more susceptible to certain diseases and problems than many other varieties.
🍎 They don’t ripen all at once, so we pick the same trees multiple times.
🍎 Yields are often lower than other varieties.

A lot of extra work goes into every Honeycrisp!

🍐 Why are our pears so ugly this year?

Those rough brown marks are frost scars from the cold temperatures we had this spring. The frost damaged the skin when the pears were still tiny, and as they grew, the scars grew with them.

Thankfully, the damage is completely cosmetic! They may look a little rough on the outside, but they’re still just as good on the inside. 🍐

Another reminder that Mother Nature doesn’t always grow perfect-looking produce!

The cooler temperatures this past week have been great for the apple we’ve been following! Cool, sunny days helped bring on some color, and it’s finally starting to show. 🍎

Now if only we could control the weather and make this coming week a little cooler! 😅

There were multiple correct guesses on our last update, great job! We’re still holding out on officially announcing the variety, but that color starting to show is a pretty big hint. 👀
