Lem's Cafe

Lem's Cafe Hi, I am Amanda, the great-granddaughter of Lem Reed, the African-American banjo player who entertained tourists of My Old Kentucky Home in the 1940s and 50s.

Based in the Bourbon Capital of the World, Bardstown, Kentucky, Lem's Cafe is a mobile cafe named after Hall of Fame and My Old Kentucky Home banjo player, Lem Reed. With the same spirit of welcoming in my heart, I started Lem's Cafe. Lem's Cafe believes that coffee, community, and creation are a triple force for good. Coffee brings people together, starts the day, and vessels peace. Community is

essential for the development of humans. Both local and visiting communities will find a safe and welcoming community when interacting with our cafe. When peace and support of the community are accessible, people have the opportunity to create the world they wish to live in.

It’s the last day of school for Bardstown City Schools and for one of Lem’s great granddaughters and my niece, Mya.

Peep where she wants to be when she grows up: at Lem’s Cafe. 🥹💚

This is my why. Coffee. Community. Creation. When you hold space for kids to dream, they dream! I hope to always provide space for big dreams!

Happy last day of school Tigers! 💜💛

🎬 Filming for the major motion picture Ethan Almighty is taking place in downtown Bardstown this afternoon through early Friday morning.

Visitors and residents can expect temporary parking restrictions on North 3rd Street between Flaget Avenue and Court Square throughout the afternoon and evening. North 3rd Street between Broadway and Stephen Foster Avenue will close beginning around 8PM tonight and reopen around 1AM 🚧

Most importantly — downtown businesses, shops, and restaurants remain OPEN and accessible throughout the day and evening!!

If you’re heading downtown later tonight, please allow extra travel time and use alternate routes once filming operations begin. What a great day in bardstown!! 🤩
