A Fall Celebration to Remember at Barrett Mills Farms!

This year, Barrett Mills Farms had the pleasure of not only participating in the 40th Annual Barrett Civic League Homecoming Parade, but also helping host the community’s first Fall Festival and Pumpkin Patch!

In celebration of this special occasion, we brought out over 900 pounds of pumpkins, 500 pounds of our farm-fresh okra, and samples of our homemade pickles for the community to enjoy!

We also had plenty of activities for the whole family, including a pumpkin painting station for the kids and a special meet-and-greet and feeding station featuring everyone’s favorite Barrett Mills Farms goat, Cookie!

Events like these represent exactly what Barrett Mills Farms is all about: bringing our community together, celebrating our agricultural heritage, and creating opportunities for the next generation to connect with agriculture.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Barrett Civic League & Turner Chevrolet for their support in making this event possible. We also want to thank every family, friend, and community member who stopped by, participated, and showed their support.

We are proud to be part of the Greater Barrett community and look forward to continuing to grow alongside it!

From our farm to our community, thank you for growing with us!

We would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who came out to the 2026 St Martin de Porres Catholic Church Annual Bazaar! Your presence and support made our very first community pop-up an incredible success!

We brought out 150 POUNDS of farm-fresh okra and COMPLETELY SOLD OUT!

We are truly grateful for everyone who stopped by, made a purchase, and supported Barrett Mills Farms as we continue our mission of bringing fresh, locally grown, sustainable agricultural products to the Greater Barrett community.

We would also like to give a special shoutout to Keyun & the Zydeco Masters for showing love and supporting our mission!

This is more than farming. It’s about community, sustainability, and preserving our agricultural heritage for generations to come.

From our farm to your table, THANK YOU!

A couple black swallowtail caterpillars showed up in the dill patch this week, which means the ecosystem is doing exactly what it’s supposed to do.

Dill, parsley, fennel, and other plants in the carrot family are host plants for native swallowtails across Southeast Texas. The butterflies lay their eggs here, the caterpillars feed, and eventually the next generation takes flight across the fields, gardens, and creek bottoms that make up this landscape.

That’s part of the goal at Barrett Mills Farms. Not just growing food, but rebuilding habitat too. Native pollinators, songbirds, beneficial insects, healthy soil, and productive crops are all connected. A healthy dill patch feeds more than people.

Small moments like this are a reminder that when the land is managed with diversity and balance in mind, life comes back on its own.

The Land Remembers. 🦋🌿
