Downtown Bartlesville has something special.

You can feel it in the architecture, the small businesses, the conversations on the sidewalk, the farmers market mornings, the seasonal events… the heart is here.

A group of us have been meeting and talking about what it would look like to help downtown continue growing into a place people truly want to gather, explore, and spend time at everyday.

To help guide that direction, we put together a very short community survey. It takes less than a minute, but the answers matter a lot.
This is about listening, dreaming, and making sure the future of downtown reflects the people who call Bartlesville home.

Need some relief from those pesky mosquitos? We have just the stuff!

🦟 "I love mosquitos," said no one ever. In fact, most of the time we hear, "I'm a mosquito magnet. They never bother my husband, but always come after me!" And vice verse. Here's a few facts on why mosquitos are attracted to some more than others:

🙋type O blood types
🙋‍♀️ higher body temperatures
🙋‍♂️exhaling more carbon dioxide
🙋‍♀️ drinking beer
🙋eating sweet or potassium-rich food

🦟 So, that means if you're outdoors, talking a lot while drinking beer and eating something sweet like melons, the little buggers are gonna be heading your way! Fair warning to all you talkers... 😉

🦟 What's the solution? You could use a commercial insect repellent, but if you're not into dousing yourself w chemicals, give our all-natural Shoobug! a try. 🕯 Meet the Maker: JB’s Candle Co 🕯

JB’s Candle Co. began with a family’s journey raising and learning alongside their two autistic children; children they describe as “smart, silly, and perfect in every way.”

Through that journey came a deep desire to help create more awareness, acceptance, and understanding for families navigating autism.

What started as candle making became something much bigger: a way to pour light back into the world, one candle at a time.

Each candle and wax melt is thoughtfully handmade with care for both quality and family safety in mind, using phthalate-free fragrance oils and scents that truly fill a space in the best way. And trust me when I say these candles smell incredible.

But what makes JB’s Candle Co. so meaningful isn’t just the product itself. It’s the heart behind it. With every purchase, they donate a portion of proceeds to a local speech therapy clinic to help children receive the support they need to thrive.

🌿 One of my favorite things is seeing what people create with the food they bring home from here. 💚

A customer shared this beautiful carpaccio dish with me today, and honestly, it’s always so special getting to see local ingredients become something gathered around and enjoyed.

Food tells stories, it brings people together, and getting to be even a small part of that never gets old.
