Hey, hey everyone!!
Our names are Devin and Olivia. We have decided to begin our journey of selling ORGANIC and FRESH produce and free-range eggs. This has been a goal of ours for about 1.5 years and now it is finally begun!
Our Story...
The Garden
In November of 2021, we closed on purchasing my great-grandparent's house that they called home. As a little girl, I remember my Granny and Papa tending to their garden in the backyard. They had such a flourishing amount of produce, in which most was canned to use year-round. When they became older and not able to tend to the outside, many things declined. We have tried our best to do things that we think would make them happy, when they look down from heaven. Their garden was much bigger than ours and covered a good bit of the back field, but it grew up and grass began growing when they were no longer able to tend to it. We created a small garden in the field to see how it would do before we went big. We have had such good luck and our garden has done great!
The Coop
When we moved in there was an old tractor shed that was very disorganized and overgrown. Devin and I took it upon ourselves to clean out the shed and clear the area around it. We then realized the shed itself was in pretty good condition. So, in February of 2023, Devin began building our chicken coop using the old shed. During the cleaning out of the shed, we found an old screen door. I wanted to find a way to repurpose it and using it as an entry into the chicken coop was PERFECT! He added the wire and some additional pieces of wood to make sure it was secure. Once the coop was finished, we went and bought 25 chickens, in which now are free-range and roost in the coop at night. We did not expect to start collecting eggs as early as we did! But, now that we are, we would love to share them with you!
