Dear customers, family, friends, and everyone who has helped and supported along the way,
From the bottom of our hearts, we say thank you.
We are here to announce that the Batesville Local Farm to Fork Butcher Shop, LLC located at 3050 Harrison St Suite G & H. Batesville, AR 72501 will hold its last and final day of business August 31st, 2023.
In the year of 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic began, cattle farmers Terry & Anne Womack watched as the cattle market plummeted while the meat market sky rocketed. Both seeing their community struggle to get good quality meat at a reasonable price, they became interested in becoming their own processor and retailer. Their daughter, Gracie came up with the name “Farm to Fork”, seeing fitting that the family raised, processed, and retailed all of their black angus beef. While Terry and son Clay maintained and managed the farm and fattened the cattle. Anne oversaw the processing plant, USDA regulations, and opening the retail stores. Their son, Wyatt, took art in meat cutting and became very educated on running the ins and outs of the processing facility; while their daughter, Gracie, helped manage the retail and marketing side. As many of you know, the business grew quickly; the hours dedicated have been unmeasurable. By the spring of 2021 the Womack’s owned and operated 5 retail store fronts, the processing plant, and had 1 franchised branch in Northeast Arkansas. In the beginning of 2023, the processing plant, and all of the retail locations with the exception of the Batesville store were purchased, by Steve Landers Jr. and renamed Leis Creek Farm to Fork.
For the ones of you that know our story and know our family, you know the tea! For the ones who don’t, we would like to share. Terry & Anne added to our herd a bouncing baby boy (Nash) in March of this year (2023). Anne still has a full-time accounting business (P.A. Southern Accounting & Tax, LLC). Terry is still full-time cattle and row crop farming. Son, Wyatt Pate has continued to manage the processing facility for Leis Creek while also attending college and working hard to get his doctorate degree in Chiropractic. Wyatt will be moving this fall to attend on campus at Logan University to complete his doctorate. Son, Clay Womack has started his own cattle operation and is continuing to grow his family and farm operation. Daughter, Gracie Pate opened The Twisted Spoke Western Co. also in Batesville, AR December 1st, 2022 and has run her business, continued to help manage the Batesville Farm to Fork, and graduated with her Business Degree in May. She is now in the works of starting her second business. We give all of these details to share with you, that Terry & Anne are ready to slow down and focus more on family and their kids are moving forward as well.
We can truly say that we have enjoyed the opportunity to provide these products for our community for the last 3 years. Getting to know new people and make lifelong friendships has been the biggest blessing of all. If you are saying, “what am I going to do without Farm to Fork?” Don’t worry, we are too. In closing, none of these things would have been possible without our amazing customers, just like you.
We thank you all again,
Terry & Anne Womack, Wyatt Pate, Clay Womack, and Gracie Pate.
