Grinning Hen Farms

Grinning Hen Farms Louisiana-based produce, plant and food provider. Farm fresh eggs, blueberries, seasonal produce, and honey.

Grinning Hen Farms is a family-owned small business on the outskirts of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We presently offer local honey and farm fresh, cage-free eggs that can be purchased (by appointment only) at our location. Inventory is highly dependent on what kind of mood our bees and chickens happen to be in so please call and place your order ahead of time. Future plans include an expansion of our

existing blueberry plants and seasonal produce items, which will be posted on our page as they become available. We also are starting our first batch of locally-grown Christmas trees and hope to supply Baton Rouge residents with stunning holiday choices in the near future.

Resident spotlight: Kiki (hen) and Ronnie (rooster) are two of our chickens who were born handicapped or became disabled later in life.

Kiki is named after the famous ice skater Kristi Yamaguchi who was born with a club foot and took up skating as a child as a means of therapy. Ronnie is named after Ronnie Milsap because, like the country music singer, he is also blind. They both love it here at Grinning Hen Farms and enjoy their days in the sun. Can they get some Likes from our fan base?

Filled a ton of egg orders today for the fantastic medical staff at Woman's Hospital. Tomorrow we'll be spreading the love with spun honey for some folks at the Louisiana Attorney General's office.

These are just a few of the friendly faces around the farm who make sure we're doing our job correctly. Indian Blues, Whites and Pied Peafowl all lounge around the farm during the day and sleep in the trees at night. This will be the first year we hope to start selling young peacocks once they're old enough.
