Our forecast: farmers, food, music, coffee, lunch, neighbors, and a very cute parking lot full of people who refuse to let a little rain ruin Sunday at our town square.

Also? An astonishing amount of rain seems to miss us. Just saying. 😏

🥕 LOVE FOOD + FARMERS MARKETS? WE MIGHT HAVE A SEASONAL JOB FOR YOU. ✨

This fall, we’re launching something brand new at BFM: our TASTING STATION — an 8-week pilot program devoted to tasting, discovering + getting curious about local food.

And we’re looking for someone wonderful to run it.

Think: apple + cheddar. Carrot + honey. Bread + olive oil. Two local cheeses side by side. Tiny tastes, conversations with strangers, kids trying something new — and lots of pointing people toward the farmers + makers who made it all possible.

You do NOT need to be a chef or food expert. We’re looking for someone warm, outgoing, dependable, curious about food, great with people + excited to make tasting a carrot feel like an event. 🥕✨

October 4–November 22

Changing out your closet for the season? Have a sweater you’re suddenly over? Jeans that deserve a new life? A bag that needs a new person? A dress that was never really your color?

Bring it to the Beacon Farmers' Market

This fall, BFM is home to a FREE COMMUNITY CLOTHING SWAP hosted + curated by your.sisters.closet.cs + never better — basically one giant neighborhood closet clean-out + treasure hunt.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18 • 10–2
Drop off gently used clothing + accessories you’re ready to part with.

Then come back for…

✨THE SWAP💖
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 1 • 10–2
Dig through the collected goods and take home new-to-you treasures.

Swap for an equivalent number of items to what you donated OR participate by making a donation, with proceeds benefiting Planned Parenthood

And because nothing good needs to go to waste, any clothing left at the end of the swap will be donated, too.

So go ahead.
Open the closet.

Little green pods. Steamed. Salted. Maybe sitting next to your sushi.

But this is edamame, still on the stalk, fresh from the farm.

There’s something we love about seeing familiar food before it becomes familiar — seeing how it grows, meeting the farmer who grew it, and bringing home something you may have only ever ordered from a menu.

There is a very specific moment at the Beacon Farmers' Market when nobody has officially announced a change of seasons, but the evidence starts accumulating.

A different slant of light. ☀️
A sweater in the morning. 🧶
Apples multiplying. 🍎
Someone mentions soup. 🥣
And suddenly maple syrup feels necessary. Needed. 🍁

We’re there.

Maybe it’s that deep amber color. Maybe it’s the nutty, toasty sweetness. Maybe it’s everything we associate with it; warm breakfasts, baking, something bubbling on the stove.

Maple just tastes like warmth. And, somehow, a little bit like love. Especially when you know the entire family who made it. Ballard Maple
