UPDATE: Tonight’s Mike’s Fruit Trap Visit Has Been Canceled

We’re sorry to share that we will not be able to host Mike’s Fruit Trap at Beaver Supermarket this evening as planned.

We truly appreciate Mike, his business, and his willingness to come out and be part of the evening. Unfortunately, due to circumstances on our end, we need to cancel today’s event.

We sincerely apologize to Mike and to everyone who was planning to stop by. We appreciate your understanding and your continued support of local small businesses.

A PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM KEVIN

I wanted to take a few minutes to speak directly to everyone about Beaver Supermarket.

The past several months have been incredibly difficult. There have been more long days, sleepless nights and hard decisions than I can put into words. But we are still here, we are still open and we are continuing to work every day to rebuild our inventory and move the store forward.

Recently, a customer took it upon themselves to start a GoFundMe for the store. This was completely unsolicited—we did not ask for it or have any part in organizing it. I was honestly overwhelmed when I learned about it. The generosity behind that act, and the kindness being shown toward the store, mean more to me than I could ever properly express.

To everyone who continues to walk through our doors and shop with us, thank you. Every purchase matters, but your encouragement, patience and kind words have meant just as much.

I also understand that we may not currently have everything you need and that you may sometimes have to shop elsewhere. There are no hard feelings about that whatsoever. We appreciate every opportunity you give us, and we look forward to welcoming you back as our inventory continues to build.

To those who continue to hear and discuss the rumors about the store, we are glad we can at least give you something to talk about. We understand that people are curious and concerned, and we appreciate Beaver Supermarket continuing to be part of the community’s conversation.

To our employees, I cannot thank you enough. You have sacrificed more than anyone should ever be asked to sacrifice. You have continued showing up, working hard and caring about this store through circumstances that have not been easy or fair to you. I truly appreciate every one of you, and I look forward to getting everyone back to a full schedule as we continue rebuilding.

And to the customers who have stayed faithful to us through all of this—some of you shopping with us no matter what the shelves looked like or what rumors you heard—you have helped keep us going. I will never forget that loyalty.

This store means far more to me than a building or a business. It represents our employees, our customers and a community that still believes an independent grocery store belongs in Beaver. I know we still have a long road ahead of us, but I am deeply grateful to everyone who continues walking that road with us.

There has been a lot of conversation about Beaver Supermarket lately, and I believe it is important for people to hear directly from me.

Over the past several months, Beaver Supermarket has worked through power issues, refrigeration and equipment repairs, unexpected maintenance and the rising costs involved in operating a full-service grocery store. At times, those challenges have affected product availability and how certain areas of the store have looked.

We know the store has not always reflected the standard we want, and we understand why customers have questions.

There are also other challenges that cannot be responsibly addressed in a public post. That is not an attempt to avoid legitimate concerns; it is simply part of respecting the privacy of everyone involved.

Through all of it, our employees have continued showing up and taking care of the store and our customers. They cut the meat, prepare the deli, stock the shelves, receive deliveries, care for the produce, work the registers and handle countless responsibilities behind the scenes. They are an important part of Beaver Supermarket, and I am grateful for them.

I’m not sharing this to make excuses or ask for sympathy. I simply want to acknowledge the concerns directly and let people know that we are working through the challenges in front of us.

Some things take time, and I do not want to make promises I cannot keep. What I can say is that we remain committed to the store, our employees, our customers and the Beaver community.

To everyone who has encouraged us and supported our team, thank you. It means a great deal to all of us.
