I am the worst at social media but Farmer Sam has been busy. We have an hundred tomato plants in the ground, purple hull peas, green beans, squash, zucchini, cucumbers, bell peppers, jalapeños, onions, potatoes, egg plant and okra. Winter was rough on the Homestead. Our high tunnel collapsed when the ice storm hit. Farmer Sam has fixed it up and has forty five tomato plants and twenty pepper plants planted.

This week we have collards, mustards, turnip greens, radishes, butter crunch lettuce and green leafy lettuce. The broccoli and cabbage are looking great. Also, we have Native (small size) pecans shelled for $8.00 a pound.

Please note we go into town two times a week and are willing to meet to deliver produce.

This week we have Shelled Purple Hulls peas (4 pound bags), collards, mustards, turnip greens, beets, radishes, butter crunch lettuce and green leafy lettuce. Within the next week or so we will have broccoli and cabbage.

We’ve got 5 pounds of purple hull peas up for sale at two dollars a pound. Also, collards and turnip greens ( No turnips yet). Give the old farmer a call at 318-560-2754.

The old farmer and his wife found a surprise in the high tunnel today. Also, we will have fresh purple hull peas within the next two weeks. Check back and see what’s going on.
