Ever wonder what the Sugartown Watermelon Festival might have looked like back in 1967? 🍉

We took a little trip back in time and created this vintage-inspired festival poster using authentic American Press newspaper articles from July 1967 as inspiration.

From watermelon eating contests… to giant melon competitions… to free watermelon served to the public. Festival traditions were already alive and well nearly 60 years ago right here in Beauregard Parish.

While the artwork itself is a modern recreation, the newspaper article featured is a genuine historical article from the American Press archives documenting the 2nd Annual Sugartown Watermelon Festival held on July 15, 1967.

Some things never change… good people & good memories. 🍉

Well we're finally home from my 2 1/2 month hospital stay my hubby never left my side for a minute of my stay and still by my side God Blessed me with my soul mate for life so if you find your true soul mate hold on to them and never take life for granted life's to short we now do everything together we sit,lay,eat and talk more now than we ever have in the past 23 years of our marriage I'm so thankful and blessed that God sent me my best friend soulmate and husband all in one package never take life or anything for granted cause it can be taken away in a heartbeat we liked to have lost everything in a heartbeat....
