This weekend is the first pick up for our Dahlia tubers. These tubers can be planted after the last frost.

Dahlias will start flowering mid summer and bloom all the way through the fall. They are bushy, compact plants that cover themselves in blooms.

We can't begin to thank all our friends and volunteers that made the Festival happen again this year! And it wouldn't be festive without the great musicians. Also thank you to all the vendors that provided local foods and products! You are all just an amazing community!

A reminder of our Garlic Festival this Sunday, August 21, 1:00-5:00. Unfortunately, rain or shine ... bring an umbrella!

Also ... for those who might not know what has been going on here at the Farm ... don't expect to see much of a garden to tour or any flowers. This past year I was diagnosed with cancer again and opted some of the new approved immunotherapy treatments, as I felt they sounded like a safer alternative. It did destroy the cancer, but also destroyed my pancreas and I now have type I diabetes. But what was really devastating is that it also caused inflammation in my spinal column in the area that affected my feet and legs. (transverse myelitis) Even with drug treatment and physical therapy I am still unable to walk. Being now wheelchair bound means no more gardening and Andy has been on his own with gardening, cleaning, cooking, taking care of me, etc. So ... still hope to see some of you at the Festival, just don't expect much in garden touring....
