Soft Bread Dumplings are a classic Czech side dish, often served with hearty meat stews, goulash, or creamy sauces. They are light, fluffy, and perfect for soaking up rich gravies.
Ingredients:
β’ 500 g all-purpose flour
β’ 250 ml lukewarm milk
β’ 1 egg
β’ 1 tsp salt
β’ Β½ cube fresh yeast (or 7 g dry yeast)
β’ 2 slices white bread, cubed
Instructions:
1οΈβ£ Dissolve yeast in lukewarm milk with a pinch of sugar, let it activate for 10 minutes.
2οΈβ£ Mix flour, salt, and egg in a bowl, then add the yeast mixture. Knead until smooth.
3οΈβ£ Fold in bread cubes, knead lightly, and let rise for 45β60 minutes.
4οΈβ£ Shape dough into logs, place into boiling salted water, and cook for 20β25 minutes, turning once.
5οΈβ£ Slice and serve warm with meat and sauce.
