I did a lazy sweet potato experiment this Spring that turned out awesome! π©βπΎ
If you garden, you know that sweet potatoes grow from slips - a little leafy stem grown from the eye of a potato that is then propagated and planted. I wanted to see if I could skip the propagation step by planting last year's potato halfway into the dirt, then snipping up all the slips once they had already grown roots while being in contact with dirt.
π₯³ It worked! I got 7 new sweet potato plants out of my coolest sweet potato from last year...and honestly, that old one is still looking great, so it will still get to be dinner! Extra bonus!
