We've got alpacas and trebuchets in the front yard, a sawmill business in the back yard, and the cutest little self-serve roadside stand you've ever seen!

I did a lazy sweet potato experiment this Spring that turned out awesome! 👩‍🌾

If you garden, you know that sweet potatoes grow from slips - a little leafy stem grown from the eye of a potato that is then propagated and planted. I wanted to see if I could skip the propagation step by planting last year's potato halfway into the dirt, then snipping up all the slips once they had already grown roots while being in contact with dirt.

🥳 It worked! I got 7 new sweet potato plants out of my coolest sweet potato from last year...and honestly, that old one is still looking great, so it will still get to be dinner! Extra bonus!

Everything I make for the farm stand is done in a homesteading fashion. I use what I have on hand and make it up as I go!

Today's quick decision was to throw together some peanut butter frosting with the leftovers in the jar from a previous bake. You'll see it appear in tomorrow's batch of sourdough brownies! 🤤🍫🥜

RECIPE: Quick Peanut Butter Frosting
- 1 jar of peanut butter, mostly gone
- 1/4ish cup of milk, adjust as needed
- fill the jar with powdered sugar
*Whip it until smooth, close the jar and store it in the fridge or use right away!

This is honestly the best jam I have made so far, and it will be back in big numbers once our peach trees give us the goods this fall. 🤤

Okay, it's technically a "tool". Either way, it's big news for the City Ranch!! 🥳

We found ourselves a 20 quart planetary mixer to do some of the *literal* heavy lifting work of mixing 35 pounds of dough on a regular basis.
